After 7.5 months there is little to No difference at all.

He says he tried his 360 shift mechanism on it and it didn't help. Ok? When? Waiting on response on that . Because every single item has been replaced and or checked.

So that leaves gearbox problem which is what I wanted him to replace 7.5 months ago. Driving home today I realized just how much noise the transmission makes. I do not think this unit is salvageable.

He's checking on price of new one from Ferrari. Offered to get at his cost and do labor for free. There are used ones available for 7-10k. I'll have to weigh out cost of new vs old. Most used ones came out of wrecked cars. The ones I've seen offer 30 day return policy.

    Thoughts welcome.

Just heard from him. He tried 360 shift mechanism two weeks ago. He should have tried that 7 months ago, but here we are.

So that leaves gearbox then. He has no incentive at all to change it since he's getting it at cost plus he's said he would to labor for free several times.

He said gearbox very noisy compared to his high mileage 360. I could really hear it today . It's gotten worse over time. It didn't sound like that when I purchased it.

Just a thought, for those with hard shifting when hot. Did anyone try a higher viscosity gear oil. For example instead of 75-90 how about 75-140 ?

I would be a bit concerned about doing that; as the oil is shared with the differential. You also need to put in an oil which is compatible with yellow metals, as it has bronze (or similar metals) components in the synchro rings.

I was thinking Redline 75-140 NS, with maybe a small percentage of friction modifier.

That would still point to a larger issue at play even if it made things feel better.
