AC weirdness!

Have a 2009 599 GTB and when both sides of AC buttons are selected as lowest, from left to right first 2 gives hot, 3rd warm, 4th cool. When left button selected hottest, 1&2 warm, 3&4 cool. How is that possible?

Front console was once removed for leather refurbishment but this problem appeared later.

Finally to check things, do I need to remove full console or center is enough?
