The Quail is one of my favorite events of the year, without question. I never understood why people ridicule it. What’s to ridicule? It’s the ultimate luxury lifestyle event, with cars being the the central theme. When someone asks me to describe it, I simply say - amazing cars of all kinds, incredible food (featuring cuisine from various Penninisla Hotels from around the world) art and fashion. The only judging is done by the various entrants within their respective classes.

Pebble beach lodge and Villa d'Este hotel are red neck hill billy shacks compared to the Duc d'Aumale's abode, one of the grandest castles of the world:D

Add to that that none other than Sandra Kasky, in charge of Pebble Beach, said she was blown away when she visited. I have yet to hear a negative word about the event.
I am 100% a track person but concours wise it does not get any better than this. My point is the quality and quantity of the cars is worthy of the surroundings. A magic occasion every time.

Yes, Chantilly Arts & Elegance is already on the top list, though I’d hardly agree with your characterization of Pebble Beach or Villa d'Este. Pebble remains the greatest and most prestigious concours in the world. I don’t know anyone that would dispute that.

    Texas!
I hope you didn’t think I was ridiculing it because I’m not. Is there a perquisite level of judging that is required before an event can be called a concurs?

I was speaking of the location(s) which is not he same as speaking of the concours itself, of course Pebble is the standard.
