Wondering how many of you guys still have your original radio/cassette head unit installed . Mine is a Voxson Eight Track. It still works but only if you play Henry Mancini's Moon River.

RHD- Quite handy when you drive on Australian roads. We just had our annual Ferrari Owners Club concourse yesterday here in Melbourne- a very good turn out from the 246 community with some lovely unmolested examples and fresh /spectacular restored cars making a debut

You're lucky! All I have is a five-button Audiovox radio (3 FM, 2 AM), sans cassette. It does have a lovely user's manual, though! Fred

The on/off switch is that thing the keys are plugged into and the volume switch is that long pedal to the right of the smaller pedal.

There really isn't any reason to have something more...it's the ultimate surround sound for a Dino.

    Agree wholeheartedly, however,
....one time, travelling south at a suitable rate of knots in a tempestuous rain storm, my wipers lifted off the screen and became tangled and mangled. Stopped sorted it out and as I resumed, Ray Charles's rendition of " I can see clearly now" came out of that radio at full volume, Alpine stereo, 3 way speakers, mini sub equalizer under the dash....blasting out for all it was worth. keeping the speed just below wiper take off....Stereos gone now... but that was FUN!

What years was that Voxson correct for a Dino? I have one as well as a Becker Mexico, haven't decided which to install into my '73 GT. The hole isn't quite big enough on my dash to fit the Voxson so would have to be cut out a bit...one reason I'm not as keen on the Voxson.

I have a period Becker Grand Prix and I am afraid if I cut the hole big enough to install it I will weaken the area too much. Both of my dashes were broken from previous radio installations and I had to have that area remade with new fiberglass. Had to have a mold made off a spare dash and new pieces made and glassed in. I suppose you could add a steel reinforcement backing plate to the whole area for peace of mind. I also have a earlier Becker Grand Prix that would require a much smaller hole but doesn't look quite as nice.

My 1969 Daytona was delivered with Voxon 8 track. Lowes were the Ferrari distributors and also the Voxon agents (listed on their price lists) so more than likely Lowes fitted the voxon as aftermarket.
Speakers and wiring were already there from factory ready for dealer instalation.

Lots of US delivery cars came with radios but they were very commonly taken out or replaced before delivery. Radio stations in Europe operate on a different band spacing than in North America so the radios would not pick up stations.

1972 spyder 04124, bought new from Joe Demaria Orange Motors Coral Gables Florida. No radio was installed. I took it to a small shop near Bill Ussery Motors in Coral Gables which sold Becker Radios. He installed the Europa II with the Cassette player.

    Same with Daytonas.
I know of a U.S. market example that has a PF specified, factory installed(?) Voxson w/8 track with European band widths.
