Why not just order the proper boots and change them ?

They were probably at one time 4 times the price of aftermarket, but I see now that some Ferrari sites are saying that they are NLA.

Eurospares (UK) now offer relatively cheap aftermarket kits.

U$99 per side, but Porsche aftermarket boot kits are still half that price:

I have never been able to make Porsche boots fit. I just buy the correct ones from Ricambi, down to the clips. The aggrevation of not fitting is just too much.

That's because the ones that are typically recommended (930) are the wrong size. Way too small in diameter. Kenneyd mentioned that he had some problem fitting the ones I recommended but as I showed in my thread, https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/cv-boot-cross-reference-for-355.598569/#post-146562621, but I had no problem (images below). And frankly, the GKN boots are much better quality then the Ferrari supplied boots.

Because it's an enormous pain in the ass of a job and it's ridiculous that Ferrari routed the exhaust inches from the CV boots without proper heat shielding.

The factory heat shields are totally inadequate but can be easily modified by adding a vertical section with a cutout for the axle. This actually works. I wish Gothspeed was still making his shields. The "aero" CV boot is another good idea. An idea I had that would probably also work is to install a larger silicone split CV boot over the factory one. It will effectively act as a heat shield.

Because on my 348 they fail every 3000kms (3 times in a row always the left wheelside, now both wheelsides)
and its a lot of work replacing them
There is no heat shield on the 348 because the boot is not close to the exhaust
These boots are the 348 95860404 ones not 355 35513015(superformance nr)
So I am not sure what is the cause
Checked the metal part where it is attached but this looks good

On the 355 I made a bigger heat shield and no problems so far
    But only 10000kms

Thanks to all for yr reply
