Yes, something definitely went wrong with the rear seats.
Aston Martin did a better job with the DB11 Volante.
Of course, the coupe and spider were not developed
    simultaneously (like the two-seaters SF90 Stradale/SF90
Spider and the 296 GTB/296 GTS, where the differences
between the coupe and the spider are minimal).
Nevertheless for the Roma Spider they have no excuse
    for that hump!
Should we give it the name “il Gobbone“ (like the Ferrari
    365 GTC/4?

I dont know what all the hater do here. If you dont like the car, you dont have to buy. Haters gonna hate.

You dont like the design, buy any other car! Just bad comments about a beautiful Ferrari. And if you know everything better, open a design company and work for Ferrari.

Terrible to read all the comments.

This is a place where everybody can say their own opinion , I think . So why if someone doesn’t like it he has not to say it . I personally think the color they used to present it is ugly , I’ve been at a Ferrari dealer this morning and he told me there is no one who said the car is nice with that color. I think this type of car has to give you extra sensations and then you start to wish to buy it . I’ve been the one has opened this thread because I wish to have a Roma spider and I knew they were studying and designing it. When I saw it , just a render , with that color I said to me : no thanks , it is not fish is not meat. I will wait anyway to see it in real and then I will take a decision . At the moment based on what I saw I can say no thanks and there is no reason I don’t have to say that.

Indeed, it becomes tiring, why waste your time in a forum of a brand that does not interest them. We will have the same review in 3 months when the sf90 "vs" comes out.

first, this is a discussion forum not an echo chamber. some will like a car, others will not. all should make their opinions known or we wont have a forum.

and yes people may dislike sf90vs too, but that car is about performance which can be objectively discussed. roma is simply about style which is obviously subjective. its just not as good looking as an aston martin in either coupe or cab.

Ferrari is not what it used to be. And I'm not saying they should stay the same forever. Time has changed, the market has changed, and the world will always be in an eternal state of change.

However! For me and many others, Ferrari has changed so much, that we barely recognise their products. The styling is gone, the romance is gone, that special feeling is gone. One part of that is EU-regulations, and another part of that is the current market we live in. They have a new generation of clients that value other things, compared to their previous clients one and two decades ago.

And I guess the ones who complain, like myself, are the ones who belonged in their previous generation of clients. It is frustrating to see your favorite brand that you love so much, saturate their own products and create cars that obviously is just made to grab some extra cash, for the sake of pleasing their share holders.

I want quality over quantity, and I do not think Ferrari is a quality product anymore. They certanly don't stand out as they once used to, and now I am talking about their "normal" cars that "average" customer can buy.
So that is why we complain.
And you say "if you don't like the car, don't buy". Well, that is the case for me. I have not bought any of their new cars. They don't speak to me any more, even though I wish they did.

I miss the good old LdM-days, and for me, LdM-cars is still plenty enough for me to enjoy :)

Most of us including myself love the Ferrari brand and that’s why we joined this forum. I own two of them , but my opinion for me is I’m not in love with the convertible Roma spider so I’m only expressing my opinion. Others will like it and order it. Just not me , and by the way I thought the launch color didn’t help the car either. This is only my opinion which is always up for discussion here on Fchat. That’s what makes the forum balanced, everyone is entitled to their opinion including the good , the bad and the ugly. Best , Kirk.

I can see why you’re so pissed .
Your profile and comment shows that :
you pre ordered the Roma Spyder last year blindly . That’s very mature !
You are now posting in this forum a configurator asking members to give ideas .
You claim that you bought it to get a higher Ferrari “status: ( whatever that is )
You have been running around to Lamborghini comparing prices .
You are confused about having being paid too much .
You have already decided that you don’t care about the car and will sell it after 1 year.
    You are obviously confused .
You lack forum etiquettes and respect for for others perspectives .
You need to figure out what do you want and what are you contributing here .
If it helps than I can inform you that I anxiously waited for the Spyder for 3 years and told my dealer today that the Roma spyder is a serious disappointment in design. I will not be ordering .
    I have had 3 Ferraris .
Somebody has rightly just written in this forum that the new commercialised Ferrari agenda is perhaps better suited to a new generation of lost souls who have no understanding of Ferrari heritage.
Good luck with your 1 year of pre planned pre sale Roma spyder ( or lambo ) drive .
ps. There are no responses to your post on asking forum members to configure your car . Sounds like no one is interested !

I have a slightly different opinion. To me rear seats are important, even though they are used very seldom. Before getting a Portofino I had a 911 convertible; the rear seats in that car were usable for short rides. I used to open the top to allow two (not tall) adults to climb in, then close the roof for the journey and open it again to allow them to get out. The legroom and especially the feet room in the Porto is much less than in the 911, even though the car is actually bigger. i do not know why. The rear seats in my Porto are still used by two adults and it would have made the Ferrari a lot more useful if it had just three centimetres more. Unfortunately the Roma has the same problem and should have had three centimetres more room at the back.
As a matter of interest, before ordering the Portofino I did look closely at a DB11. The rear legroom was even less  and that was instrumental in my decision to go with the Porto over the DB11, even though as a kid I always loved Astons.

Which makes me wonder why they needed this model. Anyone parked in big city lately? You're stuff lasts like 2 minutes.

The reason I got rid of my Maserati Cambiocorsa is a strap in the top broke. Replacement was like $10K. I traded it. Gotta wonder if someone slashes the top how much the replacement cost would be.

Going soft top they had a chance to make a modern version of this. You can see some similarities. Another classic Italian GT. But they didn't.... THIS is what I wanted. Maybe I'm old school but this is 100% better looking than most stuff made today.

I don't hate the car. I want Ferrari to do better. I think most of us are trying to give them advice, though I don't think they listen to us.

I like the 296 GTB design. I'm not crazy about the hybrid complexity and I'm very much opposed to the silly touch buttons they are using today. I don't see why saying so is "hating".

What a weird logic.. It's not healthy for a brand if all their customers and fans are yes-men. "Yes, haptic buttons are amazing! More of them, great choice. Perfect car, Ferrari can do no wrong, the Roma spider is the epitomy of perfection!".
Most of us voice our criticism because we want Ferrari to do better - and because we know they can do better. It has nothing to do with being a 'hater' or 'not liking the brand'

Don’t really understand these types of comments. The only comments that can be made must be effusive in praise? No one can have a different opinion? You cannot be an enthusiast of the brand unless you swoon over every thing they do?

Don’t understand why everyone must be a fanboy or just shut up.

I would have loved it if they had made the spider with no rear seats and gave it some poor man’s sp2 vibes. Take my money.

People don't get the concept of function over form. If the rear hump means more rigidity and safety, bring it on. Cars are about driving, not just looks (which are subjective anyway).

There is a large shift in the type of buyer Ferrari wants to attract, hence the defined shifts in design language and remixed product lineup. Anyone is free to download their annual reports from their corporate website, where the large expansion of clients with new relationships to the brand is clearly written out. The average relationship lifetime of the majority of VIP clients is becoming younger and younger year on year. The large increase in Ferraris sold in the coming years will come mainly from buyers new to the brand, not existing relationships who renew their business in dealing with Ferrari.

The majority of the members on this forum belong to the "old world", and in a few years time a Ferrari owner who knows anything of LdM will be a minority, based on the sheer volume of what's to come.

The Roma Spider will probably sell better than Portofino, because it's created by the people responsible for these new visions, as opposed to being a modified carryover from the past. Even though the opinions on this forum may be the most "correct" and genuine ones from a traditional enthusiasts perspective, they do not resonate outside of this space.

I disagree with this. I don’t hate the haptic and tech in the Roma because I just turned 50 this year - everything in my life, home, etc is automated and online - it’s that the haptic and tech here are executed poorly. Not a generational thing, and any younger generation worth their salt would not accept a laggy, touchy ux like the Roma.

I think I read somewhere earlier in this thread there is some improvement of the haptic switches in the spider.

I certainly hope this is the case. Ferrari are moving towards this interface and I doubt they’ll turn back.

Porsche did the same thing in the 992 and I don’t like it much either. I much prefer real buttons that I can feel.

I do agree the execution of the spider rear is slightly awkward with the top down. IMO, it could look better if they simply get rid of the rear seats and extend the clamshell covering the top. Make that a storage area. With the wind deflector deployed, you can’t have anyone sit back there anyways. Of course, this is coming from me whose kids are way too big to sit back there.

Front grill in body colour is an acquired taste IMO. It really sticks out in light colour cars.
