Hi, my mondial 3.2 windscreen washer stopped working. set 12v directly to the water pump and it works good. set a multimeter in the wires to the water pump and it does not receive anything when I turn the cabin knob, I can clearly hear a relay clicking, so the knob/trigger for the washer pump is good. the issue is most probably the relay (that I can hear), a fuse if any, or the wires... nothing more. where are them?
From the wiring diagram it appears to only have a fuse, 2 nd in from the right hand side. Its a 15 amp and also supplies windscreen wiper and reversing light.
well i'm 100% there is a relay, because I can hear it ... i will ask some help there are 3 relays under the dash, are these in any diagram?
Do the windscreen wipers work ok ? Long time since i had mondial- the screen wash is on the wiper stalk ? The wiring diagram does not show location of other relays, only those in the fuse box You should have a grey wire with a red stripe to the washer pump, look for this on the pump on switch
Glad you said that as i did not know what they were. You would not need a relay for such a tiny pump- it must have been modified as diagram shows switching from a contact on the stalk
This is the relay, and it's a crossed one! Just down the wiper timer. You can test it easy, just remover that relay and try the water pump... I switched the relay with another, but still no luck... It could be the wires or the fuse box or the plugs... Kill keep You posted Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can understand that, but can You test? Just remove it and test, the water pump Will not work, confirming thats te relay (the one that is not in the picture ) Also the fusebox sticker says it's te wiper relay...
The drawing does not show a pump relay, i can send you wiring diagram so you can follow the power supply circuit
Bizarre hahaha never saw a relay setup where earth is used as positive of another relay... Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is NO relay in the pump circuit. There is a relay (the black box) for intermittent wipers. There is relay for the switching between the 2 different wiping speeds. If you are actually interested in readable diagrams, message me
More interesting finding, the earth for that relay is actually the positive of fuse 23 (the wipers fuse)... This is bizarre!! I think I see where all this is going ... The fuseboard is corrupted or something very oscure and nasty was implemented for some logic hahaha Usually ground of relays go to battery negative, not positive ...
One thing is sure: + for the pump goes to pin " 3" of that conector and pin " 5" of the wiper timer, so i think there is something goin on in the wiper timer itself that is holding the pump to start The wiper pump goes to pin 3 i can confirm with the tester and the wire colors, its a grey with doble red one! And it's not the knob wire colors.
If there is power to the stalk and the wipers work, the pump supply looks to be a switch off that. Vis the gray wire with red stripe
I just want to thank After Burner for all his work on doing modern colored diagrams of the electrical systems on our cars, his fuse box diagram even has the part numbers to upgrade the modern relays
Issue fixes, the pump motor was stuck/jammed and the conector 3 in the plugs was carbonized/corroed... Now it works, i just cleaned and sanded the terminal and ser the motor in reverse polarity and back a few times and started running again the click i hered was probable the short/carbón/spark/release
