I generally just lurk here, but as a huge Panerai fan, I thought I'd post a couple picts of mine. They both get a lot of wrist time!

PAM283 - circa 2008 - Panerai Luminor Marina Automatic 40mm - full titanium case, case back, scalloped bracelet - I love this watch. Total goto for sport and water activities.

PAM317K - circa 2010 - Panerai Luminor Chrono Monopulsante 8-days GMT Black Ceramic 1950 44mm (Dark Knight) - black ceramic case, sapphire display back, buffalo strap. The really unique thing about this one is it being a "K" series. It's the only series they did with a black PVD movement. All other series of this watch have a regular, non-PVD movement and a smoked sapphire crystal to give the back a dark look. But for this year, the black PVD is behind a clear crystal, and the movement and jewels totally pop. Apparently they stopped with the PVD movements because they were too hard/expensive to manufacture accurately.

I’ve owned a few Panerai for awhile now. Deployment buckles are pretty easy to order. I called the boutique in NYC and then ordered a couple for me. I have them on aftermarket straps. I also have a couple straps that use buckles. I think both my Luminors came with 2 options. One has a Ti deployment bracelet and black rubber deployment strap. Other has buffalo strap and rubber strap, both on buckle.

I also found an almost exact replacement deployment clasp for a lot less money - only difference is it has no panerai logo. I use that one too. Can’t recall offhand where I got it though. I can maybe figure it out. There’s a huge aftermarket for straps and clasps for Panerai, as Robb me mentions.

If looking at Panerai - a couple other things to note on dials and crystals. They have three general types of dials. Flat with raised markings (submersibles), “sausage” - flat with markings painted on, “sandwich” - flat with markings and lume on surface seen through the flat top later dial. For front crystals, they recently decided to make all their “regular edition” watches have a flat front crystal. The “bubble crystals” are being reserved for special editions. My local dealer just filled me in on that one.

    Happy hunting!

Somewhat agree in the Due line. Def not at the same standard as the Luminors, Subs, Radiomirs for abuse/swimming, etc. But they are much smaller and thinner and have really easy strap changes - even easier than the already easy other models. I got one for my wife and she loves it. Can easily change color straps, simple to set if she sets it aside for awhile, etc. She’d never wear a big Panerai and doesn’t want the flash of a ladies Rolex. So here we are with a Due.

Any time. A few posts up I posted picts and info on 2 of mine. The blue one is a sausage dial under an almost flat crystal (it’s now an older style) and the black one is a sandwich dial under bubble crystal.

Per my post above - I have bought Panerai style deploy clasps and buckles from Panatime. They are around 1/10 the price and are visually and functionally very similar (not identical, and obviously don't say Panerai on them). Below are some pictures. The black rubber strap and deploy clasp are Officeine Panerai. The buckle and blue snakeskin strap and above and the brown leather strap and deploy clasp below are all from Panatime. Clasps and buckles here are all stainless steel. The "action" of the Panatime's is virtually identical to the Panerai ones. I've also heard good things about Vintager Straps, but I've never bought one.

Panatime deploy clasp has no markings or etchings.

Panerai deploy clasp has a slightly narrower cut-out under the word Panerai, than the Panatime version.

The pins are in slightly different positions between the two, though functionally this doesn't seem to matter.

I picked up this original Serti dialed (diamond & sapphire) Sub a while back even though, at that time, I wasn’t real sure. It really has grown on me. Fun piece, rare, and wears well.

IIRC, it is about 50 years old.

No F1 this week, so this has to tide me over.
