    Attached is a phot of chassis #0731 as raced by Gurney/Guelfi at the 12 hours of Rheims in 1958. Does anyone know what the license plate numbers and letters are? Is it a French plate or another country? Thanks.

    I could be wrong but I would go with Italian, the numbers on the top line, letters (for the region) on the bottom. GE would be Genoa etc

    Looks like provisional plate for Bologna, Bo 98213 was 0901GT, this one looks like Bo 9821... something. Plate issued in April, when sold to Andre Guelfi.

    Let's agree it is "Bo 98210" and it makes a nice pair with "Bo 98213".

    It is a "paper" plate of temporary validity, not registered in the Public Register, a "test" plate.
