    My Daughter and I went for a short Sunday drive in glorious weather today. The road leading to the US Navy OLF (Outlaying Field) Choctaw is tree-lined and offered-up a great opportunity to take this nice pic. My car may be just a run-of-the mill "pre-OTO"...but I love her just the same!

    Very nice!

    I would suggest 20mm spacers at the rear and 15mm at the front to complete this work of art!

    How do spacers change the feel of the car? The rear of the 599 can be playful in the wet, do spacers help at all with stability?

    What the experts say:

    "Spacers offer the following advantages:

    Better cornering performance is the result of the vehicle's larger support surface. The points of contact with the ground are further apart and thus create better stability, keeping the car on its path. Even if it is only a few millimeters, you will immediately notice the difference.

    The disadvantage of spacers is its effect on the entire steering mechanism due to the greater leverage which increases component wear. Steering knuckles, tie rods and stabilizer bars particularly suffer from this conversion. Increased wear following track widening can also be seen on the drive shaft. An original appearance comes at the cost of a reduction in the longevity of these parts."

    So I just had 20mm fitted all round. My car has the HGTE handling pack but not the wheels which add a touch more width on the front.

    It is hard for me to say if this has dramatically affected the handling as I only just got the car and didn’t have enough seat time with the car without the spacers.
