Cold and windy day today at Barber, at least the rain moved through in time for a dry track and some great hot laps. Barber is the 10th track I’ve been to in the past year or so, and it is one of the most scenic. Track has it all - elevation, nice contours, a few kinks, decent grip - all in 2.3 miles. This was the maiden voyage of the 458 Challenge EVO. It’s a hell of an impressive car, and although I’ve got a lot to learn, it is night and day compared to the Spider. One thing hasn’t changed, and that is it’s a Ferrari and needs to be driven hard. A few pics from this morning…… Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The museum and or collection is first class. Everyone should give it a tour. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Couple of pics from Barber this past Saturday and Sunday, looks like coming into Turn 1 off the main straightaway. For anyone considering, it’s a great lap and well worth it! The car did great and it’s going back to the shop for a general check over, a passenger seat, a Garmin Catalyst and some new tires. Then on to VIR 10,11-April. I’m considering NCM later in April with Chin if anyone wants to join me. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Man o man this is so awesome! I love Barber…such a fun track…miss it all so much. You are doing it right…memories forever!
Some years ago, I got a ride around Barber in the passenger seat of an F40! The problem is that it was behind a pace car and we were limited to about 60 mph. But it was still fun! And I found out that the air conditioning in the F40 worked better than that in my 328! (Heck, I didn't even think that F40s had air conditioning!)
Ive been to something like 11 tracks in the past year, and plan to do about 5 or 6 more new ones this year. Some day I'll provide a rating of where they all fit in, but I can say without reservation that Barber, while not a particularly high speed track, ranks up there.
