    So long story short, I was talking cars with my neighbor and she tells me her dad had a countach when she was growing up and they sold the car after his passing any chance anyone knows of a 79 red on black with last of the vin 22556?

    22556 is not possible. the last digits of the VIN could be 21002- 21100.

    Finally available for show, this Countach owned by Winthrop Baum of Fairfield, CT, USA. The mechanics, audio, security, radar/laser diffusers, detailing are all done and ready to roll as of January 2001.
    Sold on ebay 09-Jun-2002 by Image Motors of Boston, US for $65k with 31629km.

    No further info known on this car.

    How is that possible? My 1980 Countach has a 7 digit serial number. My 82 CLA12xxx has a 17 digit number. DLA is a 1983 car.

    OP was wrong about the year. As per the ID plate it has a 17 digit VIN but the important part is DLA12556, an 83 rosso 5000S.
