not sure if you have a car yet - but I'd recommend looking at Holeman Drivers Services - for the cars they have for sale - this a company we use for company cars... they have a wide selection of sedans with 50 - 100K miles but all well serviced etc... they used to be Called ARI - now Holeman Fleet services. with a $15K budget I know you can get a good car.

 

Mike, btw , my sister's car is a 2009 A4 w/ 140k miles , they just put $3,800 in to it and are asking $6500 obo.
I'm told they might want to sell their Subaru too, I'll try to find out more

Yes - you are correct - I'm not good with spelling!!!! and I almost never log in to them... I forgot its not ARI any more.

 

I have an Abarth version - and love it. its kinda my daily driver. great on gas mileage etc... We just had one in France as a rental and it was perfect..... it is a touch small in the USA, but for any city driving its perfect.

Nice but make sure you have a boat load of cash for when it breaks (and it most certainly will) Been there done that. Never will own any BMW out of warranty again. POS.

I’m also looking for my kids. Market is still high.

 

I got my kid a 3 year old off lease civic.

I think it is a great teenager first car. Cheap to maintain. It is actually quite zippy around town.

He was complaining to me about the throttle response the other day. I told him that’s the CVT. It doesn’t help he has driven better cars than a civic.

I think learning on a manual could be quite stressful for a new driver. He does have some interest in manual and I took him out in the Miata a few times. He was actually better than my wife.

honestly get him a buick lasabre or ultra or Get him an older tahoe or Denali like an 04-06 well made cheap and heavy easy to work on

 

My son turned 16 in Sept., & after some research with an emphasis on safety we bought him a 2015 Acura RDX for about $18K out the door. It's all wheel drive and has VG safety ratings. It has just under 100k miles and I had the dealer do all the maintenance including the timing belt & water pump. We're very happy so far. Our family has had several Acura's with no complaints

 

I've settled on a '24 Chevy Trailblazer for my daughter, if she ever bothers to get her license. Positive IIHS crash tests, roughly 30mpg, looks good, nice interior, good infotainment.
