With the release of the Roma Spider, and IMO, the terrible aesthetic of the Roma's rear, with the seats, headrests, wind screen, bulbous/fat rearend, black colored thing where the spoiler comes out, I believe the PM will be the more sought after car. It feels like Ferrari missed the mark with the Roma, whereas the PM is a timeless beauty. Thoughts?

Well, given I have a Porto (but not the M version) I guess I would have to say the Portofino. Would be good for re-sale values too. The rear seats incidentally are as useless as in the Roma, but putting the roof down does make it easier to squeeze into them. Have not seen the Roma GT in the flesh yet, so reserve judgement. Just wish the Portofino navigation (and possibly other electronics) could be updated; woefully out of date.

I favor the new Ferrari design language of the Roma and 296 and look forward to seeing the entire lineup as it moves into this new generation.

I have negative interest in the new Ferrari touchscreen interface as it exists currently. From the driver's seat I *much* prefer the Portofino M.

For looks, though? Roma for sure.

Quiet disagree for all your considerations about "terrible aesthetic" or Roma's rear. To me the whole car is just...wonderful.

It's not like the ass on my Portofino isn't just as chunky and awkward. Not many cars in this segment that don't have that going for them.

To my eyes, both cars have ungainly hindquarters due to the physics and packaging of a long-nose, short-tail convertible top car. So does the 911 and many other cars in this segment. I certainly don't see an appreciable difference between the two.

I think it comes down to if you like a squared back old school tail or rounded more modern look.

Absolutely. My only pushback is that OP's complaint of a "bulbous/fat rearend" in the Roma seems misplaced since (in my eyes) the Portofino doesn't have a very attractive rearend either. I think they're both a bit awkward and forced.

There's definitely a generational styling shift underway, and of course many people are going to prefer the old design language. Nothing at all wrong with that.

Though that's the original Portofino in the picture, whereas the M added a few curves to the beer shelf which to my liking improved it noticeably.

Now if there had a been an option to get rid of that awful antenna they stick on top of the boot lid for US models..

To me the Roma reminds me of the Jaguar F-Type (looks wise)
