I just ordered a GM T.33 Spider. That’ll eat up my Ferrari budget for a while. I may also get the next GM car. I have a few cars on order. But this could be the end of my new Ferrari purchases.

From what I have gathered, the Chinese market gets GPF, elsewhere, the software has been retuned to keep the valves closed upto 4,500 rpm, which can be rectified through your local dealer without having to worry about warranty.

You're one of the lucky ones, enjoy it in good health.

I did free up some space in my driveway, ever since my Ferrari dealer had their policy revised and they decided to close the valves on my F12 without getting back to me, which forced me to give the F12 the boot and now the 812 will follow.

You could have many options to control or leave open the valves on the F12 but trading it for a GPF car when sound was so important doesn't make much sense.

No recall whatsoever, just a sudden change of policy and attitude.

So many of the purists are echoing the same sentiments. We don’t like the direction, why have gpf on cars in jurisdictions that don’t mandate it, ditch the crappy digital screens and haptic steering wheels, etc. Why does is seem that Porsche and Lamborghini are listening yet Maranello thinks they know better. For such a fabled marque I think they are making horrible choices. I for one am thrilled to have a N/A V12s and the last N/A v8s. Let’s hope someone has the guts to engage and respect the people who supported them all along.

I was promsied several times before ordering my 812, that my car wouldn't be fitted with GPF, few months later and with multiple requests I find out it is equipped.

Code shown on their system "F152DB 2P V12 EURO6D GPF".

I am aware of adding aftermarket parts, but I have no intention to modify my Ferrari's in the first place while under warranty, they sound 'Ok' from the factory with open valves, but the opening and closing of the valves at a certain rpm is what really gets on my nerves. I could've replaced the whole system with Novitec pipes, but that's what my dealer was waiting for to happen, to void my warranty, which I kept on extending and stayed loyal to the brand by supporting them, through special orders with tons of options and warranty extension. Yes, I do drive my cars hard and never cared about mileage or resale value.

By end of 2015 I was promised an F12 TDF, but got screwed. Same story with 812 Competizione.

I guess it's the end of the road for me with Ferrari.

I’m not a purist. Still, I am reconsidering. Maybe just hold what I have and not worry about the rest. Just good delivery of a 911 TurboS cab. No manual, but a fun car I’ll use as a DD. Thinking about thinning out our car stable anyway…

I am 72 years old, with a 296 GTB on order. I inquired about purchasing the 812 replacement and was told that only prior purchasers of V12s would be served. Guess I will find a used 812 to buy . Not happy with Maranello.

Because the only objective is to keep shareholders happy - and that's going very well for them, considering $RACE is at all time highs. Vigna probably couldn't care less about what people say - the cars are sold 2 years into the future before the cars are even revealed to the public no matter what he does. They could probably release a 4 cylinder Ferrari 412 with all the crap people hate, and it would still be sold out way into the future.
That, combined with a bit of Maranello 'We know best, we know what you want' and voilá. Ferraris with digital screens, haptic steering wheels and V12 on the way to its grave

As an owner of an SF90 that's had some software gremlins along the way, I don't disagree with you. Having said that, the '24 Cayenne Turbo GT I currently have on order and being built, is now full of screens from one side of the vehicle to the other. This is in contrast to my current '22 TGT, which has the more traditional layout. Right or wrong, this seems to be the language from most manufacturers these days. Perhaps they view it as progress?! Perhaps they want to seem on the edge of innovation?! Or...maybe it's appealing to the younger crowd who've grown up with an iPad in their face by age two??

Absolutely correct. Catering to the new generation. But Porsche still
Makes a few cars with a stick and analog dashboards. Why not cater to both until purists are driving along heaven’s highways?

I think all that is left in the dash that is “analog” is the dedicated tachometer in the middle. :/

Besides the rev counter(tach), there are physical buttons (aka 'analog') for all controls (AC, steering wheel, lift, etc), that is part of the 'analog' package. (True, no physical gauges for temps, alternator, etc), it is missing the "key in the ignition", that ended with the 812, would be nice to have that be continued as well.

True. There are no haptics which I appreciate! They have reduced buttons in favor of menus which is fine, but mildly annoying. Homelink is now a menu. More steps to use but then more flexible and doors can be named which is kinda neat. No button for start stop.

In the 812SF, the start/stop button is in the overhead panel (letter A within a circle) along with door locks, disable tow alarm and lights.

Lambos dont have GPF and dont need one, as that have port injection. Much easier to manage particulates with port injection. Ferrari has direct injection. More particulates, but higher power (up to 830 while Lambo is stuck at 780).

Do you know whether the Revuelto has GPFs? It also as port injection from what I understand.

All we know directly from Lamborghini is the compression ratio was increased to 12.6:1 vs 11.8:1 for the Aventador. Online you can find websites that say GDI and others that indicate MPI, but, to get the higher compression ratio (812 is 13.6:1) would tend to indicate they are using GDI, and therefore, GPF.

Also tried to find definitive indication of GPF/OPF usage...

Maybe Lamborghini is still working on the fine details...wait and see, but I am leaning towards GDI+GPF
