The BaT car sold cheap. Anyone who disagrees hasn't been in the market for a low mile carbon seat manual GTB for at least 3 years. :)

The reality is the range for 355's is massive right now. You can get a clapped out F1 spider for $50-60k or a unicorn spec GTB/GTS with reasonably low miles for $250-300k (and beyond for ultra low mile unicorn spec I'd imagine...I just have yet to see one come to market).

Agreed. Yes, FChat, 17k miles for a 27 year old car IS low mileage. I think the fascination with buying the lowest mileage car is silly considering cars were meant to be driven and the more they sit around, the more they will need in refurbishment when you want to drive them. The old mentality of letting these cars sit around collecting dust to keep miles off has been shifting in recent years as younger buyers enter the market.

The same with ordering resale red cars. Think about how often you see non-red 348s and even 355s. F355s in unusual colors with rare and expensive options such as CF/CK racing seats will sell for a premium the same way Maritime Blue and Rubystone Porsche 964s sell for a premium over silver/black/white cars.

We'll soon find out what a unicorn spec GTS is worth.

My advice: Buy your F355 now before the Instagram generation, who’s only current concern is instant clout, realizes it’s a better sports car than the 993 Turbo, which currently trades for $50-150k more :)

    At 205k, a 10k engine out service isn't such a big deal now...eh?

Low miles and carbon seats. Also, Hagerty is saying a 1995 Berlinetta 6speed is ~$185k in "excellent" but not "concourse" condition. I was hoping to buy a 2nd 355 but the prices are just too much for me and I don't want to sell mine.

This is 100% correct. I bought the $160k Rosso Fiorano '98 Spider with 11k miles on BaT a couple weeks back. My good buddy has a minty, rare-color 1996 911 turbo with 28k miles on it that he paid $260k for. Driving them both back to back - they are both outstanding time capsules and offer pure character and motoring joy that is simply unavailable today. The 911 is fairly valued. The F355 is not $100k less car - the nice, low mile, rare color examples are going to command a solid and increasing premium as so many cars were lost to the meat grinder of depreciation and maintenance. I paid top dollar for mine and it feels like a steal to me. Buy and hold.

Still have it. Clean as it's always been. Moved to the other side of the state.
