David- That bar should have decreased understeer, not oversteer. Oversteer is not usually a problem with Maranellos unless a lot of throttle is involved or the alignment is off or rear tires worn.

Poorly worded on my part. The car is now quite neutral. Neither push nor loose.
Previously, on the track at Barber and set to “sport”, it would push going into turns and I tended to overpower that and it would come out with a loose back end. i
I have only driven the new bar a few miles on the road but that “push in, slide out” feeling is gone.

Ugh....sorry to hear about all the D block bolts being welded. Now did you put the bar on a 612, 575M, or 550? I'm guessing by your "handle" and your profile that you mounted it on a 612 car? And since you were the first to get it mounted & write about it, please PM me your street address & I'll get an MSW sticker on its way to you! And thanks for the feedback!

Sorry I didn’t make it clear. I installed it on my 2004 575M.

Is it usual to find the D block bolts welded on 575s? How did you get them out?

It's kind of confusing but what we mean when we say they're "welded" is that the mounting bolts for the D block brackets have been welded to the brackets themselves, so they cannot be reused, only replaced if you're using new D bolt brackets. The next round of bars will come with full sets of mounting hardware so there'll be no need to reuse any of the old OEM stuff.

It's typical of Ferrari to have changed their mounting configurations as they went along. When my friend & I mounted the prototype bar on his 575M, the D block brackets only had (1) of the (2) bolts welded to each bracket, so we naively assumed that's the way it would be for all the cars! Pictures are worth a thousand words, so perhaps F612 could post a pic of one of his old brackets?

A bit more driving and I’m more impressed. Turn in is much improved
Picture below is (I cleaned) D block clips. You can see welded bolts.

A loose anti-roll bar could do quite a bit of damage, so you can see why Ferrari did it.

I’m curious to know what others say about these sway bars?
Turn in improved significantly on my car.
    And you say—-?

I had the new sway bar installed and I am quite pleased with the results. Tech said everything looked high quality and installation went smoothly.
My 575M already had upgrades of FHP springs, steering ECU and updated shock ECU. Also I have a lower rear ride height, 25 mm rear spacers and alignment. Everything now is extremely balanced and feels stiffer but not at all uncomfortable even in sport mode. Handling is flatter and a little more tendency for rear to step out when provoked especially on bumpy surfaces, but easily managed and fun to drive. Thanks @Cribbj for putting this together!

Glad you like it Anthony, and I truly believe it's what Ferrari should have provided from the get-go. The 550 was launched as a very civilized GT, but it's a wolf in sheep's clothing as Prodrive & others have demonstrated over the years, so it really deserves to handle and perform better. That's what MSW and tuners like Trevor & my friend in Austin are trying to provide now to you owners so your cars can finally realize their potential.

Does the aftermarket suspension upgrades "reproduce" the factory installed FHP handling or is it better?

Reproduce in my opinion as a neutral 3rd party. It’s thinner but of much higher quality material than the oem FHP rear bar.

Quick update for folks who are on the waiting list or didn't have a chance to get one of these in our initial batches... Another batch of MSW sway bars will be arriving in our facility on Monday, 12 June. If you want one for this summer, please order it now --- we likely won't see more for several months:

I had my suspension light go off this weekend after installing, any way this could throw off the actuators?

Not connected. The bars are not linked to the suspension system

The suspension light should have gone back "off" after driving the car. Can you confirm this?

The suspension alarm/light is rather finicky & it's been known to come on even if the car is parked on an uneven surface, and it'll usually extinguish after a short drive.

It did go back off, we will see what happens! Thank you for the prompt reply. The car does feel more planted and solid with the new bar!

I've changed the shops, added the FHP front springs and now the bar and it is completely different.

They are nla, but periodically factory makes or contracts a batch. A few years ago we were able to get them from scuderia car parts. I believe on another recent thread another fchatter was able to snag some.

FHP front springs only will make her understeer more. Adding the MSW ARB will make her understeer less. If she still pushes, you need to add the rear FHP springs, if any can be found.

If you haven't already, you might consider the MSW steering ECU as your next modification. It will have a very noticeable effect on your road feel at highway speed and with the MSW ASB it'll make the car feel more sporty. The ASB & steering ECU are a great combo as many here will confirm.
