  1. lol. That's not the first time. I had the same conversation with the seller when I bought a Jalpa.

Nothing lasts forever. Chains stretch over time and mess with timing.

For this you have the tensioners, I never heard of chains which had to be replaced.

Tensioners get tired over time and stop doing their job

They are quite a neat design on the countach as the tensioner sprocket is mounted on an eccentric adjuster, no spring loaded bits to get tired.

I'm quite sure the white 88.5 DD in France with 200t Km on the odo has still the first chain and tensioners.

Yes but we've always put all 25th is the 25th thread, the Downdraft moniker refers to the 1985 to 1988.5 cars and this thread is for them as has been well-established.

Engine rebuilt not to original spec?

    I heard the same.

I have always included the Anni, however that's fine so the title was changed & no one misunderstands the thread. The dd term is in reference to the carbs not years. Side draft, up draft, down draft are terms that have been around since the internal combustion engine was conceived & not Lamborghini specific.

    I love it.

When people contact me from all corners of the globe saying they are looking for a Countach Downdraft, they mean the1985 - 1988.5 cars.

Nice & original just like yours.

As the years go by and the cars get older, having an original example is becoming understood to be quite special. Restored cars are also cool, but as I've always said, authentically restored interiors which accurately resemble the original look & feel are almost non-existent, unless you have Paratelli do it using original type leather.

Unfortunately in recent times there are cars which have had their interiors restored inaccurately yet false claims are deliberately made on Instagram to an uninitiated audience claiming that they represent perfection when in fact they don't. Characteristics of original interiors were thin leather with a distinct sheen, tight stitching, full padding etc as seen on the interior of this Downdraft HLA12096 here in the USA.
