Coming up soon at Bonhams: Bonhams : 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' Berlinetta Chassis no. 15111 Engine no. B1548 Cheers, F
^ this is exactly the type of car that drags down daytona pricing. thorough evaluation required on this one.
How do you figure ? I don’t see it being anything different from most of the average/driver examples out there. Besides, to purchase any used car, including Daytonas, regardless of sales presentation, without a “thorough evaluation” can be considered foolish.
No sale at about £365k top bid. Nice plexi but did the interior let it down? What is the money on these?
RHD Daytonas are a hard sale at the moment, even if they are rarer. And collectingcars is not famous for achiving top prices. Most of the time, it´s quite the opposite.
Here are the 6 Daytona coupes up for auction in Monterey this year. I'd be curious how those that know more than I do think they stack up (which is to say everyone). Two of them are part of the Lost and Found collection and may need more than a little TLC. There is also a real spider and a cut coupe on offer. https://www.broadarrowauctions.com/vehicles/jc23_155/1971-ferrari-365-gtb-4-daytona https://www.goodingco.com/lot/1973-ferrari-365-gtb-4/?filtersInput%5Bmake%5D%5B0%5D=Ferrari&filtersInput%5BauctionType%5D%5B0%5D=Live%20Auction&filtersInput%5BauctionYear%5D%5B0%5D=2023&filtersInput%5BliveAuctionVenue%5D%5B0%5D=Pebble%20Beach&sortBy=ENDING_SOONEST&pageNumber=0 https://www.bonhams.com/auction/28011/lot/81/1973-ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-berlinetta-chassis-no-16865-engine-no-b2670/ https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo23/monterey/lots/r0070-1971-ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-berlinetta-by-scaglietti/1358228 https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo23/monterey/lots/r0071-1972-ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-berlinetta-by-scaglietti/1358229 https://www.mecum.com/lots/1085198/1974-ferrari-365-gtb-4-daytona/

#13407 for sale next month. Bought for 638 000€ in February, 98 000€ spent on a new paint, and expected to sell for 100K more. It seems a bit short for me to have a well made new paint in 6 months, but let’s see what she brings under the hammer ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The ex-Lord Hesketh and Eric Clapton RHD Daytona wasn’t sold tonight ! Image Unavailable, Please Login

The dates are wrong in writeup. 15229 was imported along with my dad's 16337 as a pair by Elvidio Grande in 1976. Both cars were impounded by customs in Cleveland for close to a year. Upon release, my dad had his choice of the pair so he took 16337 due to its later serial number and Dr Saddi took 15229. I remember 15229 sitting dead in our garage needing a push start, so we dragged it up the hill on our driveway with a Wheel Horse tractor and push started it. Ah the 1970s....
I was looking at the pictures of this car for quite some time this week! Too bad I didn’t win at Euromillion, it would have matched our 308 with this beautiful Blu Dino Met !
That’s what I thought, famous owners don’t do everything, maybe some work was required to put it to pristine condition.
