Safety car for GT #60 stuck in gravel. Pitlane expected to open... Drizzle is intermittent and part of the track is dry.
No tire warmers is stupid. Hypercars getting passed by GT cars... all the wet tire cars have pitted for slicks.
Just a spin but couldn't reverse out of a gravel trap at the exit of a corner. IMO, should have been FCY. Safety car allowed all the slicks cars to catch up. Long way to go still... all the wet tire cars will be on a different pit strategy.
50 and 51 didn't take to their slicks... have been lapped by the toyotas. Full course yellow for Vector LMP2 losing a tire in turn 5. sjd

There's still a long way to go. Toyota has years of racing experience, the other teams while racers haven't been in all conditions/full battle. It's different. It's not F1. Ferrari currently 26 and 27th overall...conjecture is that they went on to mediums instead of softs. Pace has picked up they're reporting. It's remarkable to me it's such an even mix at the top. All the marques are in there. sjd
Seems they that first SC was put out to help Toyota. They are a great team but they don't need to be getting extra help
I don't want to believe that...but dang....bunching up the pack really wrecked the race for anyone who started on wet tires (GT included....Corvette got hosed) sjd
these are the most difficult racing conditions...part of the reason an intermediate tire was created.... I think they only have wets and slicks... sjd
Conjecture is they went to maybe the hard compound and they'll leave the tires on for 3 stints...maybe even through a driver change so the driver can come out on hot tires. It's a clever strategy.
