Angry man is angry someone younger than him is making a living destroying something that he holds in high regard.

Quite similar to the "snowflake" syndrome that is generally only applied to the younger generations.

    The
It's more accurate to say I was brought up with a different set of values, one where hard work and wisdom play a larger role than the lucky sperm club does. It's certainly fair to say that I hold expensive things in high regards, because I had to work for them, I didn't inherit the ability to purchase them. Personally, I think its sociopathic not to have this viewpoint, but again, I was taught the value of a $, because I didn't grow up with a lot of $. I've been poor, I've been homeless. I worked my ass off and sacrificed a lot to get where I am. I make no apologies for that. If that makes me a "snowflake", then I wear it like a badge! I'm proud of where I came from and where I am today. I could make a killing off of Youtube if I were 25 years old and could afford to destroy a Ferrari on Youtube. Destruction takes no talent.

Sociopathic could be used to describe an unhealthy obsession with how others choose to live their lives when they are not having a direct negative impact on others. If not for that audience base there would be little or no market for their activities.
In other words, you are how he succeeds.

    1. Probably a guerilla tactic to get more views
    2. I watched it, so it worked
    3. As Rock said, these days, attention = money/power (read time)
    4. In the past folks gravitated to 3 things to get attention, excellence, T&A, and the cringe (Springer)
    5. We live in the age where a 4th element is now worthy - victimhood (see how in vouge it is for supermodels complain somebody called them ugly)
    6. This falls under category #4; a person that can afford an F8 is being 'victimized' by Ferrari 'allegedly' not wanting to sell to him.
    7. This guy has every prerogative to do whatever wants (as long as it doesn't hurt others, and he didn't.)
    8. Ferrari has every prerogative to not sell to him in the future if they think he is a liability. (he might.)
    9. Cool stunt, and nice driving narrowly missing that mailbox.
    10. That mailbox is not really bolted on the ground.

I guarantee you if Youtube had existed in the 50s all of the street racers/modders would be doing the same thing this guy is doing.

    Making money.

Commenting on how people that want attention choose to use that audience is not sociopathic. If it's just about attention, then anything goes I guess. Not negatively impacting others? That's up for debate and reasonable people can disagree. Lastly, he'll succeed whether I repost it or not. It's the Kardashian culture which I associate him with, and will always object to, whether anyone likes it or not or wants to call me a snowflake or whatever name they wish to call me because I think the guy is a *******. Just like you have an opinion of what I wrote and are free to express it and show the ***** support for his values.

I love Toyota as much as I love Ferrari and I still enjoy watching Top Gear try to kill that pickup truck back in the 90s from time to time. I want to see what a Ferrari can handle

Are you really comparing a $2000 high mileage used truck to a $400,000 car? Is this what passes for logic in today's Kardashian culture?

There's really nothing new about abusing supercars. Whistlindiesel didn't invent it, he's just monetizing it. Expanding his 'business plan' past destroying $100k show trucks and AMG G63's. ;)

You don't need to be a jerk - I wasn't taking shots at you and I simply shared my view on the topic. I didn't even answer your second question bc I don't respect the framing and won't dignify it.

Let's try this again... I like seeing what great cars can handle. Track performance, high mileage, etc. are but just a few ways to measure a car.

Are you not impressed when you see a 100k mile Ferrari? Would the 4Runner have the cult following without its reputation for durability? Did you hate that Red Bull video where they thrash the F40 offroad, or is it magically acceptable bc a big company produced it?

I forgot about these videos (I think they did one with a Phantom too in the grass) - hope those drivers have a good pt or chiropractor bc driving an F50 on even a regular road can be rough on the back, lol

"Are you not impressed when you see a 100k mile Ferrari?" Nope, why should I be? I owned a 4Runner as well as the base Toyota truck that was in the Top Gear video. The 4Runner's reputation is not as good as reality in my experience. That base truck is. I don't equate the prior two cars on the same level as a $400k car. I also had a problem with kids destroying iPhones back in 2009 for views on Youtube. Grotesque attention seeking in my opinion. You can disagree if you like. I don't endorse that behavior.

A $400,000 car represents a toy, a new pair of Manolos for a rich guys wife.

A Toyota truck represents a lot of hard work to buy it, a way to get to work and a way to make a living for a lot of good hardworking people.
    So yea, it really important.

A $400,000 car does not represent a toy to me or a new pair of Manolos. It represents for those of us like me a lifetime of hard work. I could afford a $2,000 truck when I was working at McDonald's as a teen. What this video represents to me is a grotesque display of social media values and huge dose of privilege. I've never subscribed to the thought that attention = the right thing to do. I will never subscribe to that. I will never subscribe to the idea that a $400k car is simply a toy like a beanie baby. For 99% of us, it represents the reward for hard work, the biting of our tongue for decades, the turning of the other cheek at cheap insults and managers that didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. To see a child abuse what is a symbol of aspiration for millions of people rubs me the wrong way. That's my values. I'm pretty sure outside of FChat, I'm not alone in this line of thinking. For me, to think so cheaply of moral values is sociopathic and reeks of privilege.

You're right, I'll never get this type of moral values. I'm glad I don't and it certainly isn't going to be the type of values I teach my own son. He'll inherit a lot of money, but he'll grow up knowing the value of money and as long as I have influence, he'll never take it for granted.

Funny, I think the same of you. 31,000 comments is a lot. What else do you do other than comment on FChat? What type of person would want their children to destroy $400k cars for clicks on Youtube? That's just bizarre to me and on top of it, think the person that has a problem with kids acting like this needs to seek mental health assistance? America has gone to ****.
