After buying my CS and getting to know the previous previous owner of the car, he mentioned to me that the start button in the car would sometimes not work. Awesome. Well I have noticed that, and sometimes I have to mash it 3-4 times for it to work and other times it will just work. I am still planning on shipping the car soon to FAI for them to look over all the electrical repairs I have done, plus look for any others and repair them all it any are found. With that said, the previous previous owner did mention to me that he was planning on having the button repaired by a place but couldn’t remember the name of said place. Does anyone know? It seems like a fairly simple button. I’m also not opposed to just buying a new button and plan to put up a WTB and since they are no longer available, but know finding one may prove to be impossible. Anyways, I just wanted to ask here in my quest to fix everything with my CS. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, wiring diagrams for the Stradale are hard to come by, so I don't know what's between the button and the starter relay.

I ordered a used F430 start button (for "experimentation"), but I got my part numbers mixed up and ended up with a 458 Challenge start button.

If it's a two pin type, it may be compatible. I'd be happy to send it to you FOC.

For info: the F430 has about 3 relays in the start system and a bunch of electronics (including the manettino module). Check your handbook for any relays associated with starting (including the charger start inhibit relay)

Thanks. I have the wiring diagrams luckily and will look through them. At this point, I'm just shipping the car. Electrical stuff is my one thing I don't really like to mess with, and this car has had too many in it's life with none actually fixed in 19 years. It's time. I was just told it was the button so I was curious if there was a button repair place like was mentioned to me. You have a good point though. It might not even be the button.

Looks like Ratarossa used a replacement button from a Fiat? Not exact match but looks pretty good until you can get original repaired:

Of course, if you have access to the plug, it's easy to determine if the switch is faulty (and not a relay) with an ohmmeter.

If it is intermittent (say, due to spilled liquids), remove the switch and try drowning it with electrical spray. Shake and let it dry for a while.

Well that's amazing. I wonder if I can buy that and just swap the button cap over.
