Nothing is certain about that. Senna may have said it casually in a conversation to flatter LdM.

What is sure, is that Senna was desperate to drive a Williams (the best car at the time) in hope to win more WDCs.

The mods should lock it when he finally retires. Somebody can start a thread in a different forum about his new career: DJ44.

He will fade and become less relevant when he leaves the cockpit. Sorry mate and b-bye.

But he underestimated an unexpected parameter.
While Prost retired Ayrton lost his benchmark.
On both sides. ( Mclaren /Honda and Prost)
He lost his motivation at the beginning of this awful 1994 year.
He didn’t want to fight against the young Michael and sincerely believed that Benetton cheated.
Having a world championship car isn’t enough to succeed sometimes and if Charles would leave Ferrari he should adapt himself to a completely new environment.
But a competitive car is always better compared with this turd of SF23 ..
To my opinion he will leave because he understood Elkan don’t really want to win.

I agree. I think it's just a myth. There's no way Senna would want to end his career in a ****box. Even when Mclaren started to lose competitiveness, Senna was already offering to drive Williams for free.

Jmo, he's not going to take a sideways move. The only car clearly better is the red bull. He's a Ferrari guy, so if they are close to the front he'll stay, and they're close to the front.

Realistically he is on everyone's radar. At this point he is clearly the second best driver on the grid (my opinion, feel free to disagree). And he is not that far off Max's level.

I would also surmise that Mercedes, looking to the future, may deliberately make LH a low offer that he won't accept. I feel they are beginning to feel that they want to rip the band aid off and get through the pain. The delay to LH's new contract makes me think all is not well between him and Toto.

Perhaps. The real issue is that there has to be a better seat available that allows him to win the championship, and that he’s courted instead of Russell, Norris, or Verstappen. Luck and timing are major factors.

Unless Max decides to give up F1 for sim racing, CL is staying at Ferrari. The only UP move is Red Bull.

Hamilton will go to Ferrari because he senses they can challenge Red Bull, and he wants that 8th WDC. It will be Hamilton and Leclerc. Or Hamilton vs Leclerc. Mercedes may sell the team or rebrand it AMG...but they will only be an engine supplier. They have nothing more to gain or prove in F1. Sainz will go to Audi. Bottas will retire. Russell will go to Red Bull. Sergio will go to Audi. If Mercedes drops out entirely as a team, Alfa will step in and fill the slot and bring in Andretti because Mario has an F1 history with Alfa. Or...nothing will change.

You do not make an offer. You simply state the offer you have in mind will not be what it was in the past. You never need to make a specific number or offer available or present it. Thats all that need be said. One would normally find that to be a 'clear' message.

A looser, then? Give me an apex predator focused on winning...
If he has got some, he should be moving. Fast. If he doesn't, then he'll be another Massa.

(Only I don't know when and how; this travesty of what was once Formula One has now frozen things so much that, once a team is in the front, it stays in the front for God Knows How Long; in the good old days, a team could come back from zero to hero in one season. Nowadays, same team wins six championships on the trot, kids are locked in six-years contracts...oh my!)

A loyal driver with a ton of heart. That’s pretty insulting to a driver who’s loved by the tifosi.

That's Jean Alesi portrait, isn't it?

Remember the banner at Monza in 1995 held by the Tifosi? "Better one Alesi than a hundred Schumacher"...

I really think Charles has to go, if an interesting seat is available somewhere; in his own interest. Five years waiting is enough.

Like many before, Leclerc has ticked the Ferrari box on his CV. Maybe he should be thinking about moving now.

Time waits for no man, and there could be better opportunities soon away from the Scuderia for Charles.

Leclerc has to think about 2 to 3 years ahead, and look what will be the opportunities then.
There should/could be vacancies at Mercedes, Red Bull, Aston Martin and Audi, among the best structured teams.
Him or his manager should prospect to see wich team is investing/developing best, has/will have the best technical team,* etc ...
That's how Schumacher and Hamilton decided to make their moves to teams that brought them success.

*I don't see Ferrari evolving in that direction.

Why being so pessimistic about Vasseur right now.
Let’s see what he will managed to do this year.

I am not pessimistic about only one individual in particular.
I am realistic about the Scuderia in general.
