Ferrari Dino steering wheels have the seam 3 & 1/2 stitches to the left of the center spoke and the outer wrap over the spoke leather on the examples I have seen. Beautiful work by MOMO.
Very dark shade of black the master can give you flexible filler and proper dye to bring new again. Leatherique kit is amazing
Most of the redone wheels seem to feature wrong type of leather and many have the grip density and/or thickness incorrect.
Good to know. I never researched the 308’s. MOMO did the stitching the same as 246 wheels. Do you know if the 246 & 308 wheels are interchangeable as in identical?
Many days ago (years), I cleaned out the complete stock of the MOMO dealer here. He thought I was crazy, but eventually, not really ... I would like to share a NOS (unicorn) 308 wheel with you. Dated '79. Possibly the only one left in this virginal condition. Also got the Ferrari ( Dino or 308) MOMO hub for the car. Interesting MOMO changed the way they cover the wheel. The outer wrap seem is at center of the middle spoke and the outer wrap is cut back at the spoke leather.
Late 246 and 308 GT4 have the same wheels, as well as 365 GT4 BB. The wheels of 308 GTB and GTS Carb. Are more curved, see photos above. You can interchange the wheels in between all cars mentioned.
This wheel, as marked on the box, was intended for a 308. Also, a generic application, if so wished. Indeed you are quite correct about the leather wrapping. Regards, Alberto
