Why do other drivers try to race me???

I’m still looking for the $24/hr dishwasher job— all the dishwashers I’ve known in my life and (maybe I own a restaurant or two) make $8-$11/hr which equates to about $300-450/week… they’re living with multiple other people and share Uber expenses to get to work…. Can’t find that one you speak of that makes 200k/yr…

I also went to school as an auto tech (quit that career about 1.5 yrs after), went into acting and songwriting for some time, then sales of many sorts so I’ve never known an hourly wage (since my time as an auto tech), worked my way up to GSM, finance director and GM of multiple car dealerships, took a 9 year break where I was a professional poker player, coach, website creator and writer for magazines, opened an exotic car paint correction and ceramic coating business, went back to car business in finance whilst still continuing to do ALL of the above mentioned careers to this day…. Oh, and I also have two other careers but since you have no idea who the people are that you’re preaching nonsense to, I’ll stop there. You might be alarmed by who some of the people
Here are and what they’ve accomplished and how. Quite laughable that you think many of us don’t know what hard work is or how to earn.

You’ll grow out of whatever nonsensical preachings that you’re so enthusiastic to spew on here eventually, I’m sure.

Oh, and at 27 years old, I was homeless in Florida. Despite having nearly a 150 IQ and never having done drugs or drink… life is funny.

You got a good start financially to life it seems. You got a long way to go to find proper perspective, class and humility, however.

On the bright side and quite impressively, you’re accomplishing what you came here for I’m sure. However accidental, you are getting intelligent life lessons, factual information and perspective from some VERY smart and successful people. I call it achieving positive results through negative thinking/actions. It’s an art form when done intentionally and intelligently… but as we are seeing, it’s just as valuable when stumbled upon accidentally.

I recommend you stop being extremely jealous of the regular working society. You say within your profile you went to Harvard undergraduate school, which means you definitely feel like an elite and hate the thought of regular people being able to afford items of which you believed required extreme earnings and thousands of working hours studying. Life isn’t that complicated.
It truly depends on the individual, of when they will feel satisfied. Nothing of what you did was for “money.” The money just happened, unlike you, the newer generation is focusing on income, and which process must I take to afford the highest yield in the shortest amount of time? Then there’s threshold, how much of it do I really need to be satisfied? Then there’s appearance, does living in California really check boxes, when I can own a 6 car, 9bd, 10,000sqft home in Georgia for $1m, and own machine guns?

Once you’ve analyzed all aspects, then you can easily apply them to life and live the life you want to live and everything else just melts away.

I personally will drop 3-4 into the S&P 500 before I’m 60. I’ve got time.
In the meantime, the 700k house perfectly checks all our boxes. Anything more, and we’re just stretching for appearances. $2,500wk for us, is about the necessary income required for stuff to do, food, leisure. We don’t spend all of it every week and sometimes we spend none which rolls over into a vacation account. $5,500 is my budget limit on saving for a car/car payment
per month. Practically every 3 years, I can get a 458 until I die.
The rest just goes into stocks. Life really isn’t that hard, and success is truly within the individual. I know I’ll never make $1M a year net, and I truly don’t mind. There’s nothing in that for me besides extra headaches, tenants, controlling multiple people, and I just don’t live for that. Same with Harvard, I just don’t need it.
You might, you might feel inferior if your house isn’t 5-10, and your kids don’t get breakfast from the live in nannies while you cram on your Pc.
life can be simple.

Moved to Florida in 1995 to act… ended up in mortgages, didn’t sell sh*t, was broke, buddy/roommate moved to Hollywood, I moved to my car lol. Was funny for a while but after 8 months, wasn’t funny anymore so started a painting/decorating company from the street, after doing 7 interior jobs where the owners had to get the supplies/paint etc themselves obviously, I finally rented a bedroom in a house…. The rest is history.


Oh, and the answer to the thread’s question is…. Because most people THINK that speed is the only factor that makes a car better than another. They just don’t get it. That’s why people always wanna race you in your Ferrari.
