Only all seasons left, boys. What’s the plan going forward? https://m.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?tireIndex=0&autoMake=Ferrari&autoYear=1994&autoModel=348&autoModClar=&frontWidth=215%2F&frontRatio=50&frontDiameter=17&frontSortCode=49550&rearWidth=255%2F&rearRatio=45&rearDiameter=17&rearSortCode=50200&performance=ALL
Interesting, I'll say this, my conti all seasons are better than pZeors ever were. Sent from my SM-G990U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Indeed. I have those same contis on my daily. They’re great. Still, not ideal for the Ferrari and the the choices are dwindling.
I'd wager all of those are way better than what it left the factory with...I have the conti DW (not DWS) on my 355 and they're amazing in the rain and more tire than the stock brakes can cope with on track. Tire tech has come an extremely long way in the last 30 years...
I have been waiting for my tyres for 2 months, after I had the damage to my left rear, I ordered and paid for my replacements, but they still haven't arrived, and I have been told once a week for the last 3 weeks, "the ship has arrived and the container is unloaded, should be any day now"..........
Don't let word "All Seasons" fool you. I had some hesitation with the Pilot Sport All Season 4, but got that for my 348. I was really surprise at the performance. I would say it's pretty close to my Pilot Sport 4S Summer tire
I wouldn’t get too hung up on the compounds, I’d worry more that in the great sea of tires made there are only four which will accommodate the factory 348 specs.
Lies. Either NOS (unlikely) or something they think they can get, but can’t. If Tire Rack can’t get them then probably nobody can. That’s not to say a set might be in a warehouse somewhere but that won’t last. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lies what? Longstone is awesome. Plus that blue 348. https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classic-car-tyres/ferrari/348.html
Image Unavailable, Please Login Also, Discount Tire Direct has them listed also as special order. My bet is they get them from Longstone Tyre in the UK. I don't get all the doom and gloom. The Fiat X1/9 guys do this too because 185/60/13 is getting rare outside of Linglongs and the like. Longstone though, delivered a set of Michelins to my door in Seattle from the UK in six days.
Longstone is legend here. Gotta jump on a conf call, but do a few searches. Plus they are a long-time Fchat sponsor and advertiser and actually post here from time to time. And yes that is my 348 on their page. haha. From this thread. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/original-equipment.650300/#post-148301120
Go North young man. 1010tires.com still has Michelin PS4 in that size. (but for how long?) https://www.1010tires.com/Tires/215-50R17/Summer?RF=1&addtiresize=255-45R17
Has anyone considered bumping up the front tire size to 225/50? It increases the diameter by 10mm but is still about 5mm less than the diameter of the rears. Looking at Tirerack, a 225/50 and 255/45 staggered setup has seven summer tire options including the Conti ExtremeContact DW and Advan AD09.
I think the only concern would be increased oversteer and maybe a little extra steering effort. Tire Rack did a great test recently where they tested different width tires but kept the wheel width the same. The results were interesting.
I run 225/45/18 on my 348, seems fine, no issues at all, hasn't upset the balance of the car or made the steering noticeably heavier.
