    Pulling a good vacuum with their pump will also get rid of moisture. If possible, leaving her on the vacuum pump overnight will ensure a completely dry system.

    Not a great fan of vacuum on the Aspera: the cranckshaft seal is spring loaded, so it can sustain high pressure (pressure pushes the seal on the cranckcase), wheras depression sucks the seal inside the case, the only thing retaining the seal being the spring in this case.

    In other words it can only sustain limited vacuum.

    The york design is marginaly beefed-up: thicker seal (so slightly more pressure against the spring), better centering, and an additional dust seal (that does not solve this issue).

    Nitrogen is cheap.
