yes - horrible job! I got stuck behind a large truck one time driving into Monaco - not during GP season - it was terrible then, I cant imagine with all the extra barricades and street closures... I have not driven down from the autoroute in years, is the French road any wider and better?

Ironically, Renault trucks have no links anymore with Renault cars (or Alpine), since they're part of Volvo trucks AFAIK (themselves not related at all with Volvo cars anymore...)
