Weird, neither FOBs or the button on the floor will open the trunk. It is definitely not the battery as I put 100 miles on her yesterday and had the trunk opening ( emergency run to the brewery to restock ).
Called Ferrari and they said to bring it in, but reaching out to the forum members first to see if anyone had this problem before and if there was a simple fix.
I would hate to spend a day without the car :)

Holding the door open button for many seconds did allow the trunk to open, but if I lock the car and then unlock it, the trunk won't open unless I hold the door open for many seconds again. I guess I will take it to Ferrari.

Yesterday the roof (on a Cali T) wouldn't open - got to the trunk lift part and would stop. Realised it was the trunk mechanism itself - did the key fob thing - basically pressed and held a combination of unlock/trunk/lock buttons for 10 sec or so until the trunk mechanism clicked - and 'al fresco' motoring is now back on the menu :)
Thanks to everyone on this thread for the secret!

Just wondering if I triggered this issue by setting off the car alarm the night before. Opened the boot without unlocking the car!

    Martin,

(I am assuming your car is a California. Mine, which is covered by what I am about to say, is a '16 T.)

There is a key lock for the trunk, pointed down and on the underside of the overhang just above the rear license plate. It is operated by the old style key on the fob. I got dizzy looking for and operating it. I was working in the trunk area when the trunk lock decided to quit operating via the buttons in the cockpit or the button just above license plate. If memory serves, I think the trunk lock returned to operating correctly via the buttons after at least one cycle via the key. I would go check but the car is 1100 miles away.

    Tom
