I do not know the car personally. I only know of the fchatter through his posts over the years, as he has had the car for a long time. That said the salvage title may or may not be accurate and so it is best if you engage with the owner. Salvage titled autos may or may not be a bad thing depending upon why the auto was salvaged. I have one car that was "salvaged" and the reason was because a bunch of mice ate through some electrical wiring and so the cost to repair exceeded the insured value of the car. The car was purchased, sorted out, and then reinspected (by the Dealer and the Provincial licensing department) and the car is flawless. The branded title (now changed to rebuilt) did affect ts resell value which I benefited because of the reduced price. So... a salvage branded car may be totally fine, but needs further due diligence.

My father is selling his 1979 400 auto. It's a carb car not an i, but that means it does make more power. Let me know if you're still looking. Photos I have are too big so you'll have to DM/email me. Its black on cream with mid 20k mileage.

If you are still looking, I have a dark blue 1980 400i automatic that I have owned for approx. 40 years, It has 75k km. It was my daily driver for several years. It has been partially restored mechanically but the paint is rough and the tan interior with blue inserts is tired but still attractive. Great tires, fuel system and runs reliably. The car is in West Palm Beach. I have lost enthusiasm for the restoration journey and garage space is scarce. I have just resolved to move the old girl on. Send me a DM if interested.
