I went for an easy cruise before heavy traffic…65 mph and 3100-3200 revs…@ 300 miles since I corrected the gearbox oil leak and 1700 miles since the carb’ rebuilds, new wires, plugs and ignition coil…and, of course, a photo to commemorate the experience.

I honestly thought of those who are addressing problems with their 308s… Stay persistent and determined. Keep faith.

Hi Dane. Your drive sound like a easy, smile-on-your-face, adventure. No particular place to go but for an exercise. She looks great! You do good work.

What prompted you to delete the front bumper? It is a nice look, and I guess you're not concerned about the lack of any front impact protection. Also, I assume that the turn indicators are now positioned behind the grill, correct?

My only destination is true peace with controlled paranoia of what I may have not gotten right or what might fail next. This will most certainly seem strange, but I tap the steering as I pull into the garage, “I thank you for this experience…You’re a heck of a good car…a Ferrari…I thank you….”

Thank you, Kent. You’re always a gentleman.

Either the first or second PO did the “delete.” I have researched each, but, unfortunately, each has passed…I wanted to contact each to give an update.

Though it may seem, this is not a true bumper delete. The original bumper still exists though concealed to include the signals.

A representative at a local Fcar dealership gave me such a hard time when I showed him photos. Yeah, I get it dude, but, between you and me (on a public forum!), he can f—- right off….She’ll still be with me until I die especially considering our story and the work I’ve done as a true learning and doing my best as I go amateur. The dealership guy does not drive, own or raises a finger to maintain what he supposedly represents.

Anthony and Kent, thank you for your comments. Sincerely.

Brake bled the whole system with the help of my wife, this morning

So doing my first brake rear corner and I ask the wife to half press the brake peddle as I release the bleed nipple, only to just get a tiny amount flushing through???
So I say let’s do it again as not sure why it’s not coming out properly, same again very little coming out the nipple.

scratch my head look into the car and notice she had been pressing the GAS peddle not the brake :)

Wife not happy I pointed out her bad skills :)

Cleaned car and put away, till I can drive her.

The pressure bleeding systems are handy.

    cheers
It’s just I’ve never used one before, have always done all my cars using just a pop bottle (old school)
And have heard of a few horror stories with the lids coming off and blowing brake fluid everywhere with pressure systems AND that would probably happen to me if I did it
My way (pic) magnet taped to pop bottle

I have heard similar stories, but they are usually a result of someone trying to flush the system in a few seconds with way too much pressure. The biggest risk I have seen is letting the reservoir run dry and putting air in the system. Low constraint pressure is fine.

I wish I had seen your car there. I was so disappointed to see zero 1970s and 80s Ferrari at the concours itself.

Weekend hopefully engine oil and gearbox oil change if weather and time permit

Yeah, mine was safe in the guest parking garage :)

I went on Saturday and there were a couple black 328s. I think that was it for ferraris oddly. The car dealer in town nearby had an F40 outside.

Weather was good in the UK yesterday so finished most of the servicing on the 328, just wish I had room in the garage for a lift like others, instead of working on the drive

    Engine oil + filter
    Fuel filter
    Gearbox oil

tonight enjoy with a country drive out

Is MTL the preferred gearbox oil? Are some still using 75/90NS?

My '77 GTB also needs its' red carpet to be replaced. Where did you get your carpet from? And are you satisfied with the color match and the fit of the new pieces?

I purchased the set from Luppi out of Modena, Italy. Second generation Ferrari interior specialists. Second set of carpets that I have purchased from them. The color and fit look very nice.

Interesting way of filling the gearbox oil. I haven't seen that method before.
