488 Which Phone Mounts and Where ? What are you guys using ?

Will this work in the round Ferrari vents? Thanks

 

I have a drawer full of mounts that didn’t really live up their manufacturers claims. Got put on to quad lock last week. I installed the mount in all the family cars, its a game changer, being able to click the phone into the holder no matter what car I am in. I have the same mount in my 458 and it has been flawless… Easy in and out and rock solid grip on my iPhone 8Plus.

Not sure who’s mounting you referred to in your post but…

The mount I use is secured in the cup holder and you turn the knob to tighten it against the walls of the cup recess.

No damage is done and it can be mounted/removed in about five seconds… It also has articulation joints to get it at the height and distance you prefer.

Oh I see… that’s a bit better but certain to leave marks in the material and stretch the sides of the console… better option though.

I just lay my phone down in center console- fits perfectly in my F8 center console. I don’t need to see the phone while driving so I can just pick it up at a stop light or whatever

I need to see phone while using maps for directions. Agree otherwise i just lay it in center console as i don't need to see it

it’s a very good solution
I used it until I found a better-one
You have to think out the box: use a good windshield support with a suction pad, a long adjustable solid neck and a QI magnetic support. You can place the suction pad below the AC system, there is the ONLY large flat surface usable. And voilà:

if you don’t find the perfect support, chose systems with ball mount, like mine who’s based on systems I used before on previous cars. And like the cupholder system presented before, use solid and rigid arms.

The key point I’d like to add (never seen it on any forum): there is a usable flat surface below the AC!

It’s the best way to have a decent GPS, mandatory for many rides in Europa. Even with a red and black interior, with a black iPhone mini, it’s not so awful

 

Mine is suction cupped basically touching my rear view mirror. Looking at my phone or a car behind me is the same process now. Only have to move my eyeballs, not my entire head. No it doesn’t block the view ahead of me. It’s perfect for me. And possibly terrible for all of you, especially Todd! Yikes!

Well. Good thing I don’t live there, I’d need a new plan.(I actually wish I lived there) But I was skiing in Verbier a few months ago and loved it!!

 

I use a vent mount on the tranverse vanes of the middle vent. This model has a kick out prop on the bottom that angles it up for a better view and the vent clamp is rubber lined and pushed on the vent blade. I haven't felt it was overloading or a detriment to the vent since it had the extra prop that basically bears the weight of the phone, but have since moved up to car play.

I use this stick on base it is relatively unobtrusive, small and removable. It will hold I phone if you want to video your driving use maps etc. got it on Amazon.
