Did the deputies really know it was a Ferrari?

At that speed (and possibly observation distance (1,978')) there are lots of cars that fast and low that might be confused with a Ferrari by the casual observer. Article didn't say whether the vehicle was pulled over, either.

Sounds like Saturday was a slow news day for the TV station.

It's been long since deleted, but probably a decade or so ago there was a video of a Murcielago going 165 mph in the Midtown (I think) Tunnel in NYC, driving with one hand while videoing with the other, on a return trip from Scores (the NYC strip club). It was the craziest thing I've ever seen, bar none.

 

I'd like to know what model he was driving! That is CRAZY fast on the highway....

 

It does not surprise me at all. My guess would be it was someone attending a huge car show at a rapper's mansion in South Fulton. last week I was going to FOA on 285 in the 599, and someone passed me well over 100 MPH... I was doing about 77 - 80 ... and they went past me like I was standing still. in a honda accord.... swerving all over the road in and out of the light traffic. I don't know what is wrong with people. From my observation its usually young Black men... who are driving super aggressively. and some in cars that don't look like they should be on the road. when I see them, I slow way down and try to get out of the line of fire... you know at some point someone will have a huge accident and I don't want to be caught in the mess.

NO matter what you have I don't think there is any race track close by - Talladega maybe - that you could get your Ferrari up to 178mph... for more than a sec. Road Atlanta would probably max out a SF 90 at about 170 ish... before having to brake. maybe the Super speedway down south of town?

 

Rumor has it that the car was pulled over by a motorcycle cop.

 

The thing is that I see this sort of driving only in the metro area. Once you get north of, say, Lake Allatoona, you still see some people speeding, but not like that! On all my road trips, the wild driving only occurs in the urban/suburban areas, not in rural areas.

 

they ought to impound the car and then sell it at auction for $50

 

I'm w/ you here - I would bet money it's a Mclaren or Corvette or something and it's just being categorized as a Ferrari by someone who wouldn't know otherwise (or sees the term as a catch-all). Driver is probably relieved bc they're looking for a car that's not his now, lol

For me the idiot is the driver who took a roundabout in the opposite direction and almost hit me full face Sunday morning.
I didn't know that plugging in the brain was optional for driving

I've almost been hit twice by the person who delivers newspapers in my area bc she takes the roundabouts in our area backwards around 6am each day. I gave her a crazy look the second time and she said it helped her save time, ffs
