Amazing & breathtaking pole lap from Max. Meanwhile, the GOAT on the radio "Man, this car is hard to drive"
Too funny. I'm betting the real GOATS, aka Fangio or Clark or Schumacher or Lauda etc would NOT say that.
I thought the race was a bit of a procession, and then I watched the Indy 500. Stand on it & turn left never meant so much. F1 for me over ovals always.
Monaco was as boring as most F1 races are nowadays, until the rain arrived, after which there was some enjoyable car control to observe. Indy is an endurance race and can be confusing to new watchers, e.g. too much overtaking, as the drivers use drafting to extend their fuel range. On TV I usually skim over the first 200 laps, then watch the last 50. When you attend in person, you can rent radio headsets and listen in to the team radio of your favourite drivers, which adds a big dimension of interest, along with the car noise of course. It's a bucket-list experience. I was annoyed that Foxtel didn't televise the Indy 500 this year, so I had to watch online. Foxtel is poor value for money and slowly getting worse.
The race wasn't as exciting as I had hoped, the rain gave me some hope...........but it didn't last long. Onto the next one men.
Truth is, Monaco is never exciting. Got pretty interesting when the rain came, but only for a short while. Wonder what would have happened if Alonso stayed out one or two more laps…

Another boring race. The GOAT finished 23 seconds behind Max, despite Merc copy/pasting Redbull sidepods and front suspension onto their car. I wonder if the designer who came up with the original surface-cooling sidepod concept has still got a job? Remember when Toto was vigorously defending it not that long ago? What passed for action was in the midfield and which team disappointed the most, including another dismal outing for Ferrari.
Montreal was much better than previous races, with some elbows-out driving for the minor positions. The stewards reached a new low in pettiness by pinging Norris for being too slow behind the safety car. Still it's nice to know that wanker rule-book nazis are not limited to Motorsport Australia. And for once, Ferrari made a good strategy call by leaving their cars out at the first safety car. But they seem to be settled in as the 4th best team. Great interview with Adrian Newey afterwards, very humble on achieving 100 race wins for his RB designs.
I hate people who drop names on internet forums. btw I need to mention that I'm having a call with Mark Webber tomorrow
