Maybe just a link to the specific Hortons page may have been easier Wallace. :)

Here's the entry on the Horton website where I asked who authored the book..

Bizzarrini - A Technician Devoted to Motor Racing (hortonsbooks.co.uk)

Every year I see Mr. Horton in a booth at Automobilia in Monterey and I believe he may have one or two other venues in Monterey during Car Week. He always tries to have the latest books in print and is a polite well mannered gentleman.

Ferrari should do cars, and leave books to other people. It's Taschen and Opus revisited.

Back on the day, 19 grand might have more than paid for some of these cars themselves, not long after they were raced.

I have no idea what the merchandise guys at Ferrari HQ are smoking but it's clearly good sh#t !!

    19,000 Euro, that's equivalent to AUD $30,000.
I could buy a middle spec VW Golf for that.

I agree Christian my Opus/ Taschen buying days are over.

I'd love to see the folks that own a copy of that book in their house.

I'd guess not one (ok maybe one- MM ) would be a contributor to this forum or have any idea about the classic Ferrari books of the past.

    Here's the Ferrari link...

    https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/magazine/articles/no-ordinary-book-ferrari-endurance-jason-barlow?amp=true

It just annoys me that the information contained within will be unappreciated by nearly all true enthusiasts of Ferrari.

Even if I did pony up for the book the sheer weight, awkwardness and value of it would prevent me from being able to read and enjoy the pages as they should be.

90 out of the 99 produced will be stored in their metal presentation folder with crisp, unopened pages forever.

    Seriously, who writes this stuff.
    Let's delve a bit deeper....

"Endurance races, is as much a piece of art as it is a book" how many times have we heard that before. I'm thinking Taschen Ferrari, the Marc Newson edition with the exhaust pipe legs or the Opus special editions.

"It has also been produced to the same exacting high standards as Ferrari’s road cars" I hope it's the same as the road cars because if it's the same as the F1 cars the book is destined to have very slow sales and lacklustre reliability.

"while the book itself is bound in aluminium and limited" did someone say Ferrari in Camera- the Ferrari edition?

"The format is extraordinary, the aim being to create something that’s as much a piece of art or sculpture as it is a book" again see Taschen and the Newson stand edition

"Extra-large in size, .....But the piece de resistance is the case in which the book is stored" yes, Taschen once again in both standard and limited edition.

"There’s an additional flourish: the book’s storage case features an intake, similar in form to the NACA duct on the side of the Ferrari 330 P3/4. It’s finished in the same Rosso Corsa colour as so many of Ferrari’s most famous racing cars" and "The detailing on the case includes a nod to the NACA duct to be found on the side of the Ferrari 330 P3/4" with that I'm thinking The Red Dream limited edition version with the metal cover and the louvers and guess what colour that was painted in... Rosso Corso !!

"The first edition, housed in the carbon case, is available in a run of just 99 numbered copies" is that a clue that their might be a cheaper more affordable second edition in the pipeline?

No name of the author(s). Let's face reality, it's a showpiece in the form of a book, and definitely not a 'cult' object. But I'm sure it will sell.
