just goes to show how special that first generation of LMP2 cars (true prototypes, not "spec" prototypes) really was.

also, min weight 1820 pounds vs 2271....

Also interesting...in 2008 the LMP2 cars were faster than the Audi LMP1.

that happened at a few tracks. again, really special cars.

also funny that then and now, Porsche and Acura/Honda are involved.

not a big surprise, but still sad. quarter century of Corvette Racing with great continuity (team, drivers, color schemes, etc) comes to an end.

haven't heard rumors on who will be running the GT3 cars next year but looking forward to seeing C8s at Spa 24 and maybe N24 someday :)

I seem to recall a quote from Jordan Taylor somewhat recently that he had no interest in pro-am racing. Didn't want to race with or against gentleman drivers. Maybe a dad and brothers reunion is coming?

That's a sad news. Corvette Racing was part of the tradition in endurance. It's a pity it stops.

I hope some customer teams will take over and carry the flag for the Corvette.

The article mentioned the customer teams have already been chosen for next year. 8 total. 4 full season IMSA. Sounds like they expect some in WEC, though I have no idea how they are going to choose who gets a GT entry and who doesn't.

With the Camaro going away (and the GT4 car going with it) I wonder if we could see a GT4 version of the Corvette.

Kinda surprised to see WTR and Whelen running 3 drivers. Usually the prototypes only run 2.

It's not his fault they put the barrier there..

I see two of the 499P drivers from Le Mans - Molina and Fuoco - will be driving in a couple of the GT Ferraris at the Glen.
