maybe it was for effect, but you can get around some of the import stuff just by listing it as scrap....
and you could actually cram the 4 into one container double stacked

imo, the whole package is worth paying $200k for and then you can make some money.

will cost another 50k to cart the whole mess to dallas.
then it will cost 20-40k per car to put them together or make something fun out of them.

so then you have 400-500k in them, and you might make some money.

not counting the tv/youtube money of course.

 

I haven't seen Gas Monkey Garage on TV in about 4 years now. Wonder why the show got cancelled? Streaming?

 

Somehow, I´m sick now... Poor cars used for a s..t movie and now for a s..t show.

 

Just went to their website and all they sell is merchandise.

All of these shows are like that. Pimp my ride, overhauling, and others. They take a car, act like they do a lot of work, make it look nice and give it back.

One Testarossa I looked at was in a show, it got a cheap new interior, a belt service and was "sold" on the show. It had lots of problems.

The guys in Scotland saw them coming. Those cars are such garbage if they paid anything they are upside down in them.


Looks for 5 TRs to hit the market with Earl Schieb paint, Stevie Wonder body work, and some low end upholstery and patched together frames.

I don't know what they were doing but every one I saw the engine bay of had cut out frame pieces, Even the sub frame that was out had been cut up.

Best they could be used for is parts.

Aaron was an incredibly talented builder for GMG.

He saw through the BS and the charade and left. When their roots was the little two bay garage and a whole lot of hustling, they were doing some cool stuff.

The sad part is? I never really considered Richard a "Ferrari" guy. He was big into muscle cars, which was great. I feel like when he started toe dipping (aka. F40) and more, it just wasn't genuine.

I do think he loves Ferrari's, actually...Maybe not as much as some of us but he's got this tattoo on his arm about doing the coast to coast record in the 550 (that his business partner Dennis Collins still owns as far as I know). He's had a black 599 for God knows how long as well that I think he's stated several times he's not parting with any time soon.

IMO the F40 episodes was much more to do with tv production rather than doing it right. There's only so many muscle cars you can do and in TV it always has to be bigger and better.

In the end it's TV and it's all ********, doesn't matter if it's gas monkey, pimp my ride, Overhaulin'...they all have the same basic script: Find car, build car, deadline is close with 10% of the car assembled and the customer arriving to pick up his car in 18 seconds. Fake drama but it sells, scrap when it doesn't anymore.

Let’s all look at the positive side. Hopefully he will bring those cars back to life!

 

The Ferrari world would be far better served to use them for parts. There is no shortage of junk TR's. There is a very real shortage of parts.

 

All he ever talks about is having a beer must work on the cars after a few LOL

 

Who's the audience for this?

I liked the UK show Wheeler Dealers, but I would laugh at how a casual comment would be thrown out like "Just do a head gasket", and the engine was filthy, then a shot of some basic wrenching followed by another shot wiping his hands over an immaculate motor. They sure got a lot done in one commercial break!

 

Plus, they didn't seem to charge for Elvis' labor when they calculated their final flipping profit!
