Mine did that as well. I cut a few holes in the inner fabric and vacuumed it out. I do still get a bit every now and then but much better. It was dangerous driving it before as well as blinding!
So you’re saying the dust is coming from between the backing and the leather? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a swatters blue 97 355 with a navy top and I think it looks great. Black is fine but the navy really looks nice.
The owners manual warns against driving with the top down and not using the tonneau cover. Do we think there’s a reasonable possibility of damage?
Welp…. that should improve things. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes. Further reading informed me that others have done this too. There was no saving it. When the season is over I’ll see about having a new liner sewn in.
Functionally, what does the liner provide? How difficult is it to source another? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Well, it’s certainly softer with the foam so I’ll want to be more careful with the paint. Mostly it just looks unfinished now. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/348-f355-spider-top-boot-foam-disintegration-solutions.639426/
I don't think the problem is with the leather but rather the adhesive they used to stick the liner to the leather is drying up and falling apart. What I do each spring and again each fall is to vacuum as much of it as I can out. Sooner or later it will all be gone.
It’s definitely not the leather. I highly recommend cutting out the liner and eventually replacing it. The backside of the leather is soft and the amount of “dust” is overwhelming. Once it completely fails you need to replace the liner anyway.
Yeah, this dust is terrible, however, after visiting a reputable upholstery place local to me, he said I was better off buying a new one because he would have to essentially remake the cover bc it is “double seemed”.? If anyone knows a good place to send this to to have it relined please let me know. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I've done it. It hasn't damaged my top. However, it is difficult to see what's behind you clearly because the folded window of the soft top (in the F355, anyway) is reflected across the lower half of the rearview mirror. So I prefer to drive with the tonneau on.

What I haven’t been able to ascertain from these companies is whether they use the USA or ROW pattern for the 348 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
