LMAO !!! F1 must surely look weird for other sporting authorities. The rules are set with variable geometry clauses allowing them to be rewritten at any time to suit circumstances. Don't know many sports where the fondations are established on quicksands.
Its the 'SHOW' lol. Racing isnt a priority in this media climate in F1. The article establishes that pretty well. Change for change for change with no goal other than change for change to entertain. Racing is secondary. Mercedes cant really afford to upgrade more now because of the budget. You need only a good car for 6-10 races and the rest of the field is unable to compete lol. Thats F1. What competition. Its just a show. Im amazed anyone will waste money on Vegas and even watch the race. Max will have long locked up the title but I guess you can play blackjack for 10k a night and see a monitor lol
Finally!! Formula 1 chiefs to make push for lighter grand prix cars Formula 1 chiefs are pushing for grand prix cars to be made lighter in the next rules era, amid concerns that increases in weight have got out of control.
With tech and materials lets try 200 kilos and see how close that can be reached. Push the limits is F1 yes?
The answer is to put the F2 grid out there at the same time... now excuse me, LeMans coverage is starting in 30 mins... see you tomorrow. sjd
Truly the show has taken over.........hilarious lol. -- https://f1i.com/news/477057-formula-1-set-to-co-produce-family-drama-tv-series.html Formula 1 set to co-produce family drama TV series Formula 1 is onboard to co-produce a family drama TV series set in the high-stakes world of Grand Prix racing, marking the sport's first venture into scripted television.
So for next year I think more of the same with RedBull probable very strong again — LH stated this after Spain. The overspending is clearly not going to deter RedBull progress! — "Red Bull are so far ahead, and ultimately, Max will continue to win this year. But that means they can start on their development for next year sooner than everybody else, if they haven't already. And that's the danger. We've got to keep working hard, but also try and get the right balance." —
I take a look at the qualifying final order. Look at the top 4. Theres your podium. Many (most) times in the same order. Just recaptured hours of my sunday and can erase the other 7 F1 programs on my DVR.
Action lol. The win is known before the start. There is not much racing without DRS. The formula is exposed badly this year. Mercedes cost for the new front suspension kills their budget as they have stated. After less than 10 events its over. The rest is driving in circles. The cost cap is the END of any real competition. For every team its time to think of next year lol. The worse you do now the more wind tunnel time you get so why bother with this year any longer. Thats the current logic.
Allow any suspension design, and means of supporting the car (springs,...) and any means of dissipating energy imparted to the suspension system (shocks,...) as long as these do not involve aerodynamics. Allow brakes back themselves down as the car decelerates and looses downforce, so the driver can just stomp on them, but no pulsation (ABS stuff). Heck, allow motors on the hubs to absorb the energy and propel the car forward later as long as all the weight is mounted ON THE HUB (excepting the computer control).
Get rid of anyone or any organization who even suggests getting rid of the grid girls.......... Go back to the early CanAM rules--does it fit in the box--if so you can run it--just make the box small..........
The last truly exciting season I can remember that wasn’t 2021 was 2012, when Vettel, Alonso, and Hamilton took it down to the final few races. The beginning of last season was promising, but then it all went downhill pretty fast.
Russell passing 8 cars is decent action, but would be even better if they put up more of a battle. Ditch DRS and allow drivers to race on their braking skills.
The cars being so close in top speed, and the straights so short, you may not have more passing there without DRS. Most attempts would be in the corners, bringing more contacts and many cars ending in the kitty litter, if not worse. Chicanes have been introduced on the straights on most F1 circuits. DRS is a saviour ! If you want to see braking skills, return to steel discs.
