I would have thought it was that place in Michigan, I forgot the name. Is it their own chassis? What's the engine?
How many did the film company buy? I am predicting six, because at any moment, two or three would be being repaired in the pits.
I know Superformance in Orange County CA did the GT40s. They supplied over 20 and have bought them back and resold most of them.
What is the Michigan firm selling freshly made ones with the Ferrari body style for? Are they registered
as hand made cars? Thanks for ny tips,

What did the movie cars use for engines? Both in the Fords and Ferraris.

Your painting of the car is of a 1967 P4 in Brands Hatch BOAC 500 1967 livery. There were no P3/4 and P4s in 1966 races.

How about a 412, which I heard was the lesser powered version sold to private teams? Wasn't there one of those at LeMans in '66?

No. The 2 x non works P3/412 cars, which were updated from works 1966 330 P3s, and 2 x non works P412 cars were introduced in 1967. The concessionaires raced P2s, which were DOHC in 1965, updated to 365 SOHC P2/3 in 1966.

I should have said above that the concessionaires raced 365 SOHC P2/3s in 1966, which were updated from the 1965 works DOHC 275/330 P2s and customer SOHC 365 P2.

Sorry, I should have specified the GT40s in the movie that were built by Superformance used the Ford V8. The hero car I linked above in that auction as well as the replica hero car that won the race (P1046). The two hero cars were built by Superformance and both had Ford V8s. Here is P1046 replica's owner: https://www.boston.com/cars/car-culture/2019/11/17/ford-v-ferrari-secrets-behind-the-stunning-cars-and-crashes

The Cobras were Superformance and had V8s. The remaining GT40s, Porsche, Ferrari, Jag, etc were RCR and used LS3 as you said: https://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/threads/ford-v-ferrari-rcr-cars-for-sale.36752/ http://race-car-replicas.com/rcr-40-mki-mkii

True, except the Porsche's were built by an LA race shop and are powered by Subaru engines.

Not to bump a dead thread, but I’m bumping a dead thread. I bought one of Fran’s (RCR) 63 GTO bodies. I’ll be brining it home to Texas this weekend! Should be a fun one after the 507 is done.

    cheers

Dave, you are a glutton for punishment! :D
You're (deservedly) getting high-fives on the 507, but just wait till you start the red car...... you gonna be in a heap o' trouble! FChat has O tolerance for 'replicas'......if MM finds out, he may send someone to 'look you up' :D

    I'd put a Chevy 350 in it myself......

Ha! Right? Bring it! I'm from New Jersey and have "friends", if ya know what I'm saying.:p

Fear not! I'll offend nobody for a long time since it's just going to be shop art until the 507 is done.

    Cheers
    Dave

Great reply, and thank you! I didn’t know there was a thread/forum section for replicas. When the time comes, I’ll be there!

    cheers
