After swapping the multifunction stocks and clock spring on the California the dash has lit up with a host of fault lights including Manetinno failure, ABS, traction, adaptive headlights, among many others Im forgetting to list. Using my Autel I can gather/guess all of these faults must be related to the steering angle sensor fault. From my understanding, turning the wheel lock to lock should self learn the system however this has not been the case. A quick drive didn’t help and neither did clearing faults or disconnecting the battery. And yes the battery was disconnected during the repair. I’m guessing there is a way to activate the steering angle adaptation however I cannot find it in the Autel. I apologize for my lack of information and technical specification on this post just looking for any information or similar experiences. All replies would be appreciated.

    Thanks! -A

You have to use a scan tool to do the steering angle alignment.

Not familiar with the autel /California combo but look under special functions/ activation test under the Cali menu under steering/ abs/ or dashboard ..or look for the standalone steering angle app and then see if it supports Ferrari

Like I said not knowing your exact tool ..these are just places to look

It’s the Autel Maxisys. I’ve looked through just about every menu and module to try and find the relearn but can’t seem to locate it. It’s possible I’m just missing it or even this model of scanner does not have the capability. I do appreciate your insight letting me know I’m on the right track trying to do a relearn with the scanner.

Do you have independent menus for service functions?

Eg. Oil reset, brake release, immo

Yes it has a hot functions menu as well as active tests and live data. Not all modules have all of these options but the ones that do I’ve looked through. I made this post mainly to make sure there wasn’t some nuanced way to self learn the system that I was not aware of. If the answer is somewhere in the scanner I will keep looking as it must be right in front of me *facepalm* I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me figure this out.

I look at a autel device i have and the SAS doesn't have Ferrari...

So i would assume it has to be under the brand Ferrari and not the SAS selection

My device has most brands including Ferrari and all the OBD2 based modules. I’ll continue looking when I’m back with the car. Just needed to confirm it would be a function I need to preform with the scan tool and not a self learn that had failed. I appreciate your replies.

    Forgot to add this update:

Ended up using my LAUNCH tablet to do the calibration, couldn’t find it in the Autel so I’m guessing it doesn’t have the function. Thank you for confirming for me I needed to preform the action with a scan tool. All is well with the car now problem solved.
