Of course not, that's why I said, if you care about straight line performance, this is not the Ferrari to buy, (for who can do it), this car should be bought for trackdays, maybe spirited driving on safe hillclimb roads, where you can feel aero difference compared to normal SF90 (and collectionism)
That depends on the track. In general, tracks with long straights will favor the XXK-EVO…more technical tracks the Challenge car. But even that depends on the track. From an appearance, sound, and technology perspective, there is no comparison.
that's interesting, so the base car is heavier than all existing SF90's and they've had to reduce weight just to offset that before even getting into an overall reduction!
It appears that the government's in Europe and the U.S. ultimately want us on horseback again. Of course, modified with GPF's covering their anuses.
Lance, anything else particularly noteworthy you can share for those of us who couldn't attend? Were there things that they wouldn't share with those in attendance until it's revealed to the public?
Not my cup of tea definitely but not a big surprise at this point. P.S. I liked when car launches brought a surprise (good or bad). It´s obvious that at least some of the leaks were intentional and the barely disguised mules make me think that Ferrari is playing the same "hype build game" that others do.
Those fender louvers too ;P They could solve them in a much better way. I liked the transition from 488GTB to 488 Pista, but SF90Stradale to this? It's a jaw dropper for sure but not exactly in all the best way. Anyway, congrats to those who got the allocation. IMO the 812C looks even more special to me now.
These pics usually don't show the car in the best light. Remember the original SF90 leaked photos? Looked terrible. Will wait for the official photos before judgement.
Agreed! It’s interesting just how vastly different the rear is. I’m reserving judgment until taking in the entire car (new tech and performance info). Definitely a strong race car theme…
This car should not be judged for beauty, it's not FXXK and Daytona SP3 or Monza SP1/2 Aero is what will make or break the mission of this vehicle. Front s duct twin channels look small, but there may be some other front downforce generators not very visible in pics, tomorrow hopefully all will be clear
Yes, agree about taking in the entire car in person, but damn that blue spider photo looks hideous.. if there is no special sauce tomorrow that they have kept up their sleeve, this will be the first VS I will request my deposit back, and AF Coupe looking like a clear winner tonight.. wish Ferrari would abandon this 15 new cars by 2023/25 nonsense, this car should never have been built, stick to SF90 Stradale for Street Assetto Fiorano for more track orientated, as explained to us in May 2019 at Fiorano Launch. This move to the stock market is a disaster, unless shareholder.
Maybe it's not the most gorgeous car, but they will sell all of them and please track cars guys like the ones buying GT3RS and Senna, it's just fair for Ferrari to proprose hardcore track oriented cars, they will still produce GT and SUV. Different Ferrari for different Ferraristi is the slogan now, and it's a profitable one till now.
I don't believe that the hypercar weighs on their decisions regarding the SF90 VS. The hypercar exists on a different plane altogether. The decisions about the VS centre around what is technically possible with the SF90 platform, with an economically viable evolution regime. But we should all keep in mind that a car's performance, especially on track, is more than the sum of it's modifications. Incremental developments on all parts bring big overall gains.
I think if you’re going to go in the racey direction they should have gone further. Like larger front fender ducts and front canards, like the 296 GT3. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
