It took me a long time to collect most of the original service tools specified in the service manual for my Testarossa. Thanks for sending me down the same rabbit hole with my Diablo.

I tend to keep these things forever, so probably not a bad investment.

Have gotten my 92 registered and on the road. Slowly working the (many) bugs out of it. Seems to be benefitting from use (and a lot of injector cleaner). If I fix one issue every week, etc...

A few Diablo questions - the tank holds 100 liters, but when my fuel gauge shows empty, I can only add 50. Has anyone replaced the sender unit? I have been told removal is blocked by a frame tube. Does the Diablo have a low fuel light, just in case? To add insult to injury, the ODO gears inside the speedo have stripped on my car so the ODO / tripmeter does not work.

Has anyone found an equivalent for the rear axle nuts? They are $80 each(!) and are merely a M30x1.5 nut with a 42 mm OD.

Finally, is there any online source for a PDF of the owner's manual for an early car?

John, from experience with the QV, it might be a stuck sender unit, it you drive the tank nearly empty and refill to the top several times it might get better.
I did this about ten times and then it was OK again.

I will check the electrical connectors on the top of the sender unit as well. Can I ask, roughly how many highway km you get from a tank? As well, is there a low fuel light? (Just in case)

if you think your injectors need cleaning, remove them and send them to RC Fuel Injection. They do an incredible job for cheap!

When I had the injectors professionally cleaned and tested on my SE30 it made massive immediate difference to how well it ran. Here in the UK it only cost £274 to get all 12 done.

It appears the injectors are not the issue. There were major changes to the engine with the advent of the VT. Seems the PO set the ignition rotor and phase sensor timing to the VT settings, which it did not like. As well, the car did not like the Jaguar ignition rotor, which cracked at one arm and sent the timing further off. The more we dig into it, the more we find. We had one bad rear wheel bearing seize, which damaged the alloy hub such that the bearing (and wheel) has a tiny bit of play which necessitates a repair. Such is life when you buy a discounted car from Japan with no service history. I am learning a lot however and (besides the bills) enjoying seeing it come back to life.
