AT is a joke. Not sure what RB think overall but now much is moving to the UK. More wasted money. Sell the team let Andretti sort it. Yuki is not a good F1 driver at all. He should also be gone.

Alpha Tauri (Toro Rosso before) is a Red Bull B team on a leash. It was never destined to be a big player.
Before the budget cap, the figures over several years revealed that it received between 1/3 and 1/5 of the funding RBR benefited.
That team was never intended to do well, but had a different purpose: act as guinea-pig to test new drivers and new engines (Honda?).
Only the 2010 rules forced them to built their own chassis; before that used "hand-me-down" Red Bull ones.
It's best ranking in the WCC was 6th; today it's bottom.

According to Horner, Ricciado was apparently impressive during the tyre test at Silvestone, putting times not far from Max. That's fine.
Rest to see if he will manage to relaunch his career in Hungary, driving maybe the worst car on the grid, on the face of it.
If he does, Perez will have reason to get worried about his next contract at RB.

Yep, if it wasn't for the B-team, RedBull and most notably Max might be under a different situation with regards to Honda.

Also, this B-team brought drivers like Seb, Ricciardo and Max when RedBull was in there high (before the turbo hybrid era).

Agreed. I never contested that Toro Rosso wasn't a springboard that launched a few very successful careers. That's the positive side.
The negative side is that when there was no seat available for promotion to Red Bull, some promising drivers were spat out hastily for "insufficient results" according to Helmut Marko, to make room for new recruits.

To come back to Ricciardo, I read from Sportune that the Ausie is likely to make a lot of money from his move to Alpha Tauri.
Ricciardo was this year recruited as 3rd driver and ambassador on a 2M € contract by Red Bull.
He had alledgedly received 21M € in severance money from McLaren.
At Alpha Tauri, Ricciardo is bound to earn 500K € per race ( so 6M € for the 12 GPs left) and could also receive a 4M € bonus, if he contributes to bring Alpha Tauri to 8th place in the Constructors championship (they are 10th and last at the moment).
So, this deal (literally out of the blue) could mean a 10M € winfall for Ricciardo.

As usual, I greet this news with a pinch of salt, but nevertheless ...

At least something interesting in terms of racing to evaluate as Ricci starts racing again. A welcome new subject for this season lol :)

We will soon be fixed about that.
Apparently for some here (I read that several times), a driver is only any good if he can get result a crap car.
Well, Ric will have to show us his mettle with the car at the bottom of the ranking.
    That's quite a challenge !

Honda (money) likes him (Yuki). That's all that counts. Kind of like the Stroller . . . but different.

I've never rooted so hard for Yuki. I hope we wipes that stupid smile off his face the way Lando did.

Dramatic much? Nyck wasn’t good enough, or marketable enough, which is also why he’s tried to get an f1 ride previously but was always passed over- it’s as simple as that. He won f2 when his biggest opponent was Latifi and his Formula E title was gifted by the weird points structure rather than straight forward wheel to wheel racing.

I think Willis is on to something. Maybe there isn't Dutch money for anyone besides Max. Maybe Ricci brings more Euros/Australian Dollars and Checco brings in pesos and Tsuki brings in Yen.

So is he taking on Tsunoda in the first race? What's the consensus? Is he going to take a big reality check once he drives the lovely AlphaTauri?
