The older I get the less I think of it as just stuff. I can get more stuff, I can get more money but the time out of my life that it takes to get it is gone for good. It represents time I can never replace. No one has a right to take time from me.
So because they take your time, you take their life? What happens if someone doesn't jump off the red light exactly as it turns green? Do you shoot them for taking your time? Life is precious. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. Let's not be so quick to wish death on others.
no, I don't. I am in this industry and I wouldn't wish death on them; these problems can be solved with good engineering. I'm not advocating no accountability, I am just not advocating death as accountability.
I dont think whether one is in the industry or not really matters. Commit an intentional crime like that and execution, far as im concerned.
Dont compare a hacker intentionally attacking a business to someone pausing at a red light. Thats intellectually dishonest
Any intentional crime? Theft = execution? This seems like it could solve the population crisis but I think you might have some citizens rising up against you Heerführer. I mentioned I am in industry because I work with this every day and am acutely aware of the devastation and destruction that can be caused. I am not naive to the damages these people cause. Beyond that, you're right, it doesn't matter.
Life is only precious to those that make the decision to do something productive with it. Using air and destroying what others have done does not make you worthy of it. Now you are just being an idiot. We are talking about destructive criminal behavior. You want criminals to walk the street, congrats you got your wish and why a daily growing number of our population feel the need to carry guns.
You're advocating capital punishment for property crimes. Luckily, our Constitution prevents such atrocities. I suppose you'd like to get rid of that pesky document and replace it with a fascist autocrat instead. We have to take the good with the bad in a democracy. Due process is the law of the land and if you don't like it, move to Russia.
You have a real problem putting words in the mouths of others as well as rewriting the constitution to say what you want it to say. No surprise there.
Remember the Salem witch trials? It's episodes like these that moved the writers of the constitution to a due process system without cruelty and spectacles. There is no death penalty in property loss cases. There never will be either, at least while we still follow the constitution. Now if the situation is that a group of criminals are targeting your business and you wait for them to strike and ambush them while "in fear for your life" then that's a different matter.
No one in the conversation has made any suggestion even remotely denying due process. Its what we call deflection. Not even a good try. Nowhere does the Constitution or the 8th or the 5th prohibit its use for property crimes. Nowhere does it even say it is reserved for cases of murder. From 1789 the Constitution allowed slavery and that was reaffirmed in 1857. The document is hardly written in stone nor has it been consistently or properly interpreted in every case.
Impressive straw man you've built there. No one said or implied there shouldnt be due process. What we are saying is once convicted, say goodbye. Youre executed. But you already knew that. You just wanted to act indignant and self rightous. Thats why people build straw men. Typical...
