This looks great. What is the model number please? You had it installed in your 355?

My car came with a 2nd set of speakers in the rear wall, as well as an external amp. I use those. I'm pretty sure the front speakers work but they're so poor I don't even hear them.

The Becker Cascade 6111 or 6112 came in 430s and other Ferraris in the late 200x years. Here is a link to one for sale. https://www.ebay.com/itm/125995636372?hash=item1d55ecd694:g:eek:kgAAOSw6upkncMo&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA0Eb0bEwE/oxG5SMKSWdkVrdnLDwRs2ApFDRu5iBXQqdHjaqG8TdgPwfKTBjA6kEAB1LeKkH+CyWKdvtvl1WiqIDyGgYKW/qEGMm7lmOkfBu2g9Esuo+srczs6ZDOa4F3OU1llhmjz6bMNry55czW7JJNoE2xa1+zu9iP4gRrNM1Zx6tfKMCe/R+6jI3i2AB7DS0FWrIZCAxmeLEY8APIXXsUJaC3d74lMZD78w7uOQ/6k7faVtxByqAC5Fk1cQNsc/BZ0A88NZj9K+EuBxC/sA0=|tkp:Bk9SR_ze-oarYg

A few years ago you could get them for $500 or $600. They now seem to be going up in price. I think they match the car pretty well. You can also change the display color. I have mine on green to match all the instruments. It was plug and play for me. You just have to purchase the Becker radio harness (vs Sony radio harness) for the 355 and it plugs right into that.

The XR-F20 Ferrari branded radio from Sony was used in the 355 throughout and somewhere in 99, as they were transitioning to the 360, it started popping up in the 355 also, so a late model 355, educated guess, will have the Becker Radio. The Becker Radio is the nicer radio, IMO. I have both radios and it just seems to me a more user friendly and better sounding radio.......

I have a 1999 355 F1 with the Sony deck. Just another data point for you.

Sony’s started showing up in 98. Perhaps late 97 in some countries.

Late 99 cars have the Becker as seen on Serie Fioranos.

For U.S market, generally it is equipped on 98-99 cars, with only the latest 99 cars making transition to Becker.

That post is absurd as "your willing to pay 100k for a Ferrari 25 years old that is out of date and is old technology, I'm sorry but that is stupid".

Some people just love being blow hard know it all's .

"Why would anyone buy an old Rembrandt with all that old material and paint, done with outdated methods, modern computers can do it for pennies in your home when ever you want."o_O

I wish my radio was $300! I would probably pay $30k for carbon seats that fit me, but need to be perfect! And we know I probably can’t get that deal done. I am also pretty sure a perfect working Ferrari Sony Badged radio can’t be had for under $4k now! That is an equivalency in value in my opinion.

Most are in Europe from what I have seen. Condition, original and all needed pieces is rare in deed!

I've got an old Ferrari branded Sony head unit from an early 355 - trouble is, the tape deck is broken. Does anyone know where I would be able to get it repaired in the UK?

Here is the wiring. Manual doesn't specify front pr rear speakers. Note that right speaker on top is shifted left one terminal compared to the bottom row.

The problem with the service manual is that it tells you the colors of the wires for each connection but not what pin they are from. So if you don't have the factor connector for reference you don't have enough information. Here is the figure with factory colors noted as well.

Wouldn't the connector below work? I believe it would be a plug and play from the car's wiring harness to the Sony unit, so no wiring alterations needed.

    1) Yes, it would work but whether it's plug and play would depend on how the factory wires for the stereo in a 1995 model are terminated. They may just be a lose wire bundle. I know in my 308 "prewired" meant it had wires from the speakers and an antenna wire. The part you listed is for the 5.2 car which was wired for the Sony.

    2) Why spend $100 for a $6 part?

    3) If you need connectors, another $8.50 for everything you would need. https://www.amazon.com/Disconnect-Connectors-Insulated-Electrical-Cold-Pressed/dp/B08DR85NX5/ref=asc_df_B08DR85NX5/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459581327642&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4302999068829949391&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9003251&hvtargid=pla-960452134934&th=1

Both the after market and OEM part are the same plug. With the after marker you will have to add the terminations to the correct wires and you can snip off those not used. With either the OEM or the after market plug there is still the question of how the factory prewired wires are terminated in a 1995 model.
