I know. would I have the money... My dream would be to have an F4 Phantom... that was the plane of my childhood. I loved the look and the capabilities. I think it was South Africa or somewhere they were selling off air worthy phantoms for like $15M each. the problem with military aircraft is once they are retired, a lot of the electronics are stripped and the airframe is no longer really safe. So if you purchase a plane, you are really only getting a shell, you then have to basically rebuild it ... and that is 2-3X the cost of purchase or more. let alone find someone to do the work. Kermit Weeks my "friend" at Fantasy of Flight in Orlando, has his own team, but it can take them years to rebuild an aircraft. He has a PBY that has been sitting for 15 - 20 years that is on the list... but its really just a shell. From what I know Jets are off the list for him due to cost and knowledge. Real German aircraft are very hard to find, but you can usually source them from South American countries... I think Uruguay was a source for lots of parts etc. Spain for a while had serviceable fleets of Dornier aircraft, in the 60's and early 70's. I got a ride in a B-17 about 10 years ago... and once we were up, I wanted to be back down! LOUD, and tons of vibrations, I could not imagine being aloft in one of those for 8-15 hours at a time... let alone having people shoot at you.
+1 Driven was so bad it made Days Of Thunder look like Grand Prix That being said- Gina Gershon was sick hot so there is that at least
Just watched the trailer. He's way too old, Pitt should be playing team owner, mechanic, etc... but not a driver. Heavy on the CGI but I'm it will be cleaned up in post.
The storyline that’s been released unfortunately seems very similar to the awful Driven. Does anybody in Hollywood have a new idea?
agree. Pitt is way too old to be a driver. maybe even too old to be an owner. i have low expectations for this after seeing trailer. i would actually pay money not to hear Gunthers voice. hope they focus less on track racing and more off track financial shenanigans and driver headgames etc.
It was funny watching Pitt and the other guy do fake interviews over and over during the post race driver interviews.
I have low expectations for this movie to be honest, despite the cost and director being very good. I suspect it'll just be FAR too much hollywood in there.
