Has anyone had their bumpy road mowed stop working? When I push the button the ride does not change not does the screen let me know it’s in bumpy road mode. Not sure if this is some sort of electrical glitch out there something I need to replace any guidance would be appreciated.

You aren’t in wet mode? It won’t work in wet mode as it in effect is already in bumpy road mode.

Doesn’t change in comfort either. Only sport or race.

For wet and comfort it is in bumpy road mode automatically.

There is actually a page in the manual that explains in which driving mode the bumpy road function can be activated. And indeed, for a Lusso, the suspension is in soft mode in Ice, Wet and Comfort, and in hard mode for Sport or ESC Off. If you press the bumpy road button while in Sport or ESC Mode, it will change the suspension back to soft. If you press it while in Comfort, Wet or Ice, it wont do anything.

I have never heard Wet mode referred to as comfort mode but I do see the manual you referenced. I've always thought of Wet mode being most important for gearing ratio to reduce slippage under wet conditions as its primary purpose not as an alternative for the bumpy road function.

Agreed, I think "comfort" is specifically about the suspension, not the manettino.

In 7 years with my 458 Spider I had never read this before, but page 154 explains that suspension has comfort / sport / and race, that match up with the different manettino settings of wet / sport / race / CT Off / ESC Off.

    Suspension damping control
This vehicle uses latest generation MagneRide™ magnetorheological suspension, a system developed by Delphi and perfected by Ferrari for continuous automatic damping control. By processing data received from the vehicle dynamics sensors and sensors that detect bodyshell movements, the ECU interprets the driving conditions and the road surface and immediately adjusts suspension response by varying the control current of each shock absorber. These sensors allow the ECU to calculate the vehicle speed, vertical and lateral acceleration, steering angle and instantaneous pressure in the braking system, and hence to control suspension damping. This system not only ensures an optimal compromise between racing-style performance (handling) and comfort, but is capable of emphasising either aspect by using the different adjustments available controlled by the “Manettino” driving mode control switch.

Three different setting levels are available on this vehicle.
Level 1 (COMFORT) Slightly more flexible setting, optimised to better absorb road unevenness and provide a better grip on wet road surfaces (Manettino set to WET).
Level 2 (SPORT) Slightly more rigid adjustment optimised for sports-style driving and for high speed (with medium-high grip), without significantly affecting comfort (Manettino set to SPORT).
Level 3 (RACE) Even more rigid setting optimised for use on the race track (Manettino set to RACE, CT OFF, ESC OFF)

Given the road conditions in Colorado I am always in Bumpy Road mode when in Sport or Race- More for the car than me- Unless I'm cranking up in the mountains on smooth roads- The combination of Race mode with Bumpy Road gives you the exhaust/performance benefits of Race but softens the suspension for crap roads-

I'm in Dallas/Fort Worth and Bumpy Road mode is always on. Makes a HUGE difference in ride quality. So much so I'd had people comment they were pleasantly surprised how nice the ride is.

    Hello,
I own a my13 458 Italia. I admire the aggressiveness of the car, especially in race mode, but for normal road use, the suspensions are too stiff and you bounce too much inside the vehicle (even on long and straight highways), I think this damper setting is prepared only for the race track. I wonder if this is the same for other 458 owners?

You cannot be serious, what did you expect from a race car for the street? If you want something smooth on the road, get a luxury sedan.

Of course, I know what is what, I have owned different sports cars before and have long experiences. It hasn't been long since I bought the 458 and I'm just getting to know the car. What I really wanted to ask was whether this suspension system works like this in other 458s and whether it feels like this.

Here in the UK many of our roads are in a terrible condition. I find the 458 very compliant. Bumpy road is a useful feature, as it backs the dampers off a little and that works well for very uneven surfaces, otherwise for main roads and higher speeds I find the standard suspension setting to be dialled in just about perfect.

Well, in mine, which is a 2010, the bumpy road button takes a lot of the harshness out of the road. Whether that is sufficient for UK roads, which look really really driver unfriendly from the review videos I watch on youtube, I don't know. I mean there are roads in the UK with hedges right beside the road, that would be maddening to me. I've even seen stone buildings right up to the edge of the road. Driving on the highway, bumpy road mode is harsh, compared to a GT car, but that's due to the stiffness of the chassis and the low profile tires. There is always a trade off when you buy a car not designed to operate like a GT. If you do the majority of your driving on the highway, you might be happier with an F12, GTC4 Lusso or FF. If I lived in the UK, I'd have something different based on what I've seen. Get an RSQ8. It's nearly as fast as the 458 and in RS mode, I think it actually handles nearly the same. That's my daily driver.
