This fastest way I have found to delete bulk photos on the iPad.

Go to the Photos App
Select All Photos at the top
Tap the "Select" in the upper right and that will enable you to highlight pictures by dragging your finger across the ones you want to delete. You will get a blue circle with a check mark in the lower right of each picture selected.

 

Go to "days" at the top of the photos.

Top right tap "select", then on the day of the stuff up "select all", which should just select everything from that day. Make sure tou have just selected all from that day, not select all for the whole album.
Then go in and manually unselect the ones you want to keep
Then delete

If you do stuff up and accidentally delete one you wanted to keep, you can recover it from the deleted photos section
