Spenser was also the Buick dealer in San Francisco. He was one of the first private teams on the west coast to have crew uniforms, dedicated team vehicles, etc. His own residential garage in Hillsboro contained some mouthwatering machinery. The race team was not N.A.R.T. level and I don’t think he got any factory support…it was all his own money and unfortunately he lost his businesses due to embezzlement by an employee.
I love the vintage trailers, and transports. Here's a shot of my '33 Ford PU hauling Hap Jones's original, hand built trailer. Hap was the Indian Motorcycle Dealer in San Francisco, and was also the very 1st to cross the Golden Gate Bridge when it opened in 1937. He did it aboard a brand new Indian Chief. Interesting side note regarding this trailer (which I still own), it was used to transport his race team across the US to Daytona for the big motorcycle races there. It was towed by a hearse, which they slept in along the way! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is a tought one. I'd say it likely isn't 1055GT. Then we have 1057GT and 1073GT built to same exact specs. I lean towards 1057GT as it was reputedly sold new in New York. Does anyone have photos of 1057GT when Robert Ramlose owned it in California from mid-1960s to 1980s? That would also help to sort out which one was with Zipper late in 1964.
The 312T debuted at the Spanish GP in 1975. I'm not certain of the date of the press intro of the T2 but I recall that it was very late 1975 or early 1976.
What’s the purpose of the piece of metal that arcs over the roof from the top of the windshield to the base of the rear window?
That was my first thought too, but the attachment points at each end don’t look quite right for that. It could be just ornamental…..being Vignale.
I agree with Dave. 0301AL had a radio. You will even notice the car still has the two clips on the roof today’s.
in the 70ties in germany it was common that some had inside the car a CB Radio and outside such antenna, very long and that this antenna not will move left and right and hurt some people outside they had to fix the end of the antenna to the car somewhere. same as the military have longer ago on their vehicles.
